  • Sound System in Cosmo?

Got a Wraparound Suite booked with a connecting Terrace 1 Bedroom, and will be having around 25 - 30 people in the rooms partying.

I was thinking about bringing my DJ setup to plugin and play some shit for people to get buck to. Does anyone know what the audio situation is like in there?

That’s the one major draw back to the cosmo room IMO. There is absolutely ZERO stereo system. Aside from the Radio Stations on the Plasma Menu Interface and a Ipod clock radio that’s WEAK. So to answer...nothing.

In the past Ive used a Laptop + Dr. Dre's BeatBox and its worked well.

thanks for the heads up.. Now I'm considering lugging my own speakers there. How loud does the beatbox get? Enough to fill a room with a clean sound?

slightly tangential, but I found the sound system at the PH Towers 1 BR Suite to be pretty adequate. The flat screen on the TV is hooked up from a line out port in the wall to a separate sound system hidden in a little dresser underneath the TV.

I unplugged the TV, plugged in my phone, and the sound system filled the entire room very well. The downside to this was that there was no TV audio at all while you were playing music. However, we were able to have sports games on the big TV & projector, and have music playing at the same time, which made for a good pregame.

yup, we've done the "speaker hijack" at PH Towers, and have received several noise complaints in the process.

Last time I did it, it was more then enough, enough to prob get a door knock, however we never did. The Cosmo's wraparound rooms must be pretty solid, or maybe the fact they’re on the corners? I got a crazy good deal on the beatbox, thats the only reason I bought it originally, IMO it does just as well as the compact bose system. Surprisingly solid hitting base and crisp mid/highs.
