I was in Vegas at MGM May 10-15th 2013. WR and MGM were both amazing. It will be busy but you don't even need to spend time at WR to have fun. The lazy river and multiple smaller pools at MGM will leave you satisfied. There are friendly people every where and the DJ's/Music selection is top notch.

I've stayed at MGM 3 times and may have a bias towards the resort although I may try a different spot next time for variety!

I think early May is one of the best times to be in Vegas. Enjoy!

WR to me is all dependent on what they have going on for the weekend. When we went in July WR was pretty solid as they had the Hot 100 on Friday and Laidback Luke that weekend.

I would post this topic mid April to get a better feel for how things are going for WR and the other pools at MGM. Plus you'll know who is at WR for that weekend.

The MGM pool area is big, they have multiple pools and there is one that is adults only

Myself and my girlfriends have been to MGM in early May for the past 3 years. We usually go Wed-Mon... Things are quieter on Wed, and Sun/Mon around the regular pools... (that being said, if you want to socialize, the lazy river always has more of a "party vibe") I've never had too much trouble finding a chair, and most of the time I'm sipping a drink in the water anyway.

WR is (or at least has been the past three years) very busy on Fri & Sat... Last year when we went Calvin Harris was there, and it is the most fun I have ever had there. It didn't seem to me that it was overrun with "Kids", but I guess that depends on your expectations. If you are talking about ACTUAL children, they are at the regular pool, but from my experience most Moms and Dads try to keep them away from the drunken revelry in the Lazy river... And yes, WR is for adults, but there is a wide range of ages there too... Lots of eye candy and there are always some who party a little too hard (ie need to be removed in wheelchairs).
Personally, being a more "mature" woman (in years only, I'm 39...still young at heart. ) I felt totally comfortable there...
I think it really depends on yourself and what you want... Just be open minded and friendly. So are most other folks that are in Vegas that I have met. Everyone just wants to have a good time.

Enjoy yourself! Keep in mind that it is a trek to get to the pool/WR from the hotel... even if you go early, expect to wait in a line to get into WR. My advice is to either rent a cabana if it is in the budget or make friends with a big group of pretty girls... your wait will be less.
I"m going in June this year... Different hotel too just to mix it up. Hope I have as much fun as I have in years past at MGM... Although it's VEGAS! How can you not have a blast?
