Hey everyone, I am headed into Vegas in Feb for President's weekend and I was thinking of staying at the Palms with my wife. I was wondering if it's an overall good choice. Not really looking to get too crazy with the Tier 1 clubs and all that but as far as a good time, is the Palms a decent choice to stay and party at? Thanks!

I agree - my wife and I stay exclusively on the strip for the ease of access to tons of stuff to do. My wife doesn't gamble at all, and isn't a massive drinker like I am, but wandering the strip, people watching, and just drinking in the environment that is the Las Vegas Strip is something she really enjoys.
Off strip just doesn't feel that being spontaneous is as much of an option...Upcoming Vegas Trips:

haha - I have 2 types of Vegas trips.Originally posted by I_luv_Vegas View Post...my wife has the shopping mall at home.
...I have Vegas.

- ones with the wife where we eat at nice restaurants and go to shows. We enjoy the nightlife, but on a more tame level. I gamble until the wee hours while she sleeps
- ones with the boys where we drink non-stop, party till dawn and more, and we get by on energy drinks and whatever food we remember to eat. Nights are spent in clubs of all kinds

Hotel32
The wife and i just got back from Vegas and we tried the Hotel32 atop the Monte Carlo. While the Monte Carlo is alittle dated itself and not a party hotspot, Hotel32 was top notch. We stayed in a loft and it was more than awesome. Room was great but what set it apart was the staff. EVERYONE from the suite assistant to the housekeeping staff went out of thier way to make sure you were taken care of!!! Check it out.Tired of chasing the dream...let me try yours!

you'll get that kind of shit when they play hip hop in the Playboy club, for fuckssake. I'm not sure what they are thinking.
The only good things about the Palms is the clubs on the top floors. My impression of the place has always been that it is too much of a dump to stay in. I'd never take my wife there. You have the SlotLizards parked on the floor in clouds of smoke all day and oxygen tanks and shit.
At night, the place can jump on the club levels... but I don't understand why they have hip hop crap in the Playboy club when it seems a pop/edm mix would fit much better...
Anyway, take your wife to Wynn / Encore. The pools don't matter since you are going in Feb (through they are great at both), but she'll love the restaurants & spas... the clubs are fantastic if you do decide to do that one night (you should, call Mikey). The atmosphere is elegant, sophisticated, but still warm and inviting.
For cheaper alternatives, Planet Hollywood is nicely located and so is Caesar's.
Treasure Island is my favorite mid-priced-but-still-really-nice place to stay.

It's a little off the strip, so you'll be cabbing it everywhere. Otherwise, it's a lot of fun, especially the night club on the roof (can't remember the name).Vegas Trips:

2001 - Circus Circus
2008 - Treasure Island
2009 - Luxor

Quick lil story about the palms. It was last year after mtvu's spring break . There was a Rick Ross after party at Moon. myself and a few others went up to moon , actually paid like 20 bucks to get into that shit hole. Took about 40 steps in, turned around, back down the elevators and walked towards the front exits to grab a cab and gth outta there. On our way came accross 5 homely white ladies, dressed nice in a circle having a big debate, one had her purse out and completely unzipped showing her friends sobbing while saying "look they took everything" there was absolutely nothing left in the purse. Turns out they were up at moon, weaves there way through the ghetto ass crowd attempted to actually dance , sometime during there happy little moon visit she was completely cleaned out of everything. Nothing but the lining in her purse.Appreciate Vegas
