Trying to figure out where to stay my next trip down. Want to base the hotel on the pool this time around since I do plan on hanging by it most of my trip. Thinking Mirage because it has all the landscape and waterfall. Anywhere else where the pool is really good? I just want something that's more then any other pool I can get anywhere else.
Best hotel based on the pool

When you say "pool" do you mean the regular pool or the day clubs?Originally posted by manda View PostTrying to figure out where to stay my next trip down. She means hotel pool, not pool party. She understands the difference. Im surprised shes asking this questions. Seems like Manda has been to Vegas just as many time as me. She was at the the very first "unofficial" JC event. Meaning Colton had no idea I was showing up with 45 people for his weekly tables. lolOriginally posted by jonflesh View PostWhen you say "pool" do you mean the regular pool or the day clubs?Originally posted by manda View PostTrying to figure out where to stay my next trip down. My vote for coolest pool then is the MGM. Never seen the mirage though.

Ha, yes it is true! Truth be told, I usually stay the same hotels and half of those times I come in colder months so I don't get to either use the pool or see them unless from the window above. I have requests from my girls when we come in May and they were asking for good pool-sides. Thought I would see what others recommend.
DNIX, it is true on the first "unofficial" event. Good times with you and Nassau that night.

Prepare for the mixed vibe at MGM Pool... Probably the same at all the non-party pools. Mixed vibe being a family with young kids to one side and a small group of partiers on the other side of you.Originally posted by dnix View PostMy vote is for MGM too. Mirages pool is pretty cool too, though.
Hahaha... last time I was at the MGM lazy river...a couple years ago.. we were a small group of couples and couple solo guys... We got a little tipsy, and 1 guy ended up getting pantsed (yanking his shorts down to his ankles by surpirse
) then he proceeded to float in his tube with his ass in the air... This big tony montana looking bastard, with his 6 year old nearby, stands up in the river and yells in a Tony Montana accent, "Hey man, are you crazy man, what are you crazyyy!"
was pretty funny.

Sorry for the confusion - I did not mean the physical specifications. I meant the atmosphere/environment. The stuff that message boards are for.

Mandalay Bay's pool area is more of a big fake beach with a wave pool - it's good for laying out, but for safety reasons the lifeguards don't let people hang out in the shallow area where the waves break, you either have to be out floating in the deeper area, or in a smaller inlet area on the left side. If you're trying to hang out and drink in the water, the main pool/beach isn't that great. Their adult pool, Moorea Beach, is great though, a younger better-looking crowd and everyone is partying. It's a lot like Wet Republic or Tao Beach, except smaller and without the headline DJs. Cover is usually $40-50 for guys and $10-20 for girls.
MGM has a large pool complex broken up into different areas. One of the pools (I think it is the Producer's Pool, don't remember 100% though) is usually set up with a DJ playing house/EDM and consequently it attracts more of a younger crowd that is drinking and partying. There are other areas of the pool that are quieter and have more families and kids. This pool area is separated from Wet Republic, which is their adult pool (separate cover and entrance, more of a dayclub than a pool for swimming).
Personally I preferred MGM's pool complex as it is more conducive to relaxing in the water with a drink and socializing with friends. For Mandalay Beach, it quickly gets too hot laying out on the beach area, and it was a pain to keep going all the way into the wave pool and back to cool off. MGM also has more bars already out among the pool complex, although Mandalay does have cocktail waitresses that tend to provide pretty good service as long as you're drinking a lot.
I've stayed at both hotels during the summer and had fun at both pools though, so you can't go wrong either way.

As far as a pool I DIDN'T like I'd have to say PH Towers...the sun goes behind one of the tall buildings next to it around 12:40pm and disappears for a few hours. I was so bummed haha
I've heard good things about the Mirage pool and I didn't mind the TI pool...there's an outdoor bar, dj and lots of younger people partying.
