Please help me choose my hotel. jan 18-23

Hey there. This will be my first time in vegas. Mostly going for wsop circuit poker tournaments...but if i lose, looking to party.

Currently, i'm booked for 5 nights at PH in their cheapest room.
(hoping for a decent upgrade with a 20 or 50 sandwich...another first)

I'm 29...traveling alone. 2 buddies are booked over at Rio. I want to hang out with them a bit but still have some space.

PH rates today are 850 for the room i booked a few weeks ago at 600. Should i back out and get a suite at Rio for a few days and maybe a GO room at flamingo too?

Should i stick with what i've got and just try not to spend too much time in the room anyways?

I appreciate the advice. If you're in town at the same time and want to get a drink, i'm down. If you're in town and female. Heyyyyyyyy.

What dates are you going exactly?

From my experience, if you go with some buddies, you'll end up hanging out with them quite a bit. Having a solo room is fine, but being far away from ur buddies tends to be a problem. I find on the trips, even if we decide to do different things, it's just more fun with more people.

And if you're a poker nut, I'd probably stay near wherever you plan to play. If PH, i assume you'll be playing at the Aria or something.

As for rooms, make sure you book with the best promo code too. Check them all, even when one has a lower starting price, they might have cheaper pricing on other dates. Try www.mycheapvegas.com and compare all the rates.

As for Flamingo, only reason I'd stay there is if I want to have some fun and play some 2/4 with my buddies. Did that last trip, had some good table shots, and got plastered and rowdy.

$20 sandwich should get you a resort room at PH, $50 might get you a vista or panoramic depending on how full they are.

I'm staying jan 18-23rd. Now I'm really considering changing my hotel to Palms Place. It's pretty new...non smoking, all suites and nicer than rio from what I've seen...and pretty inexpensive.

15 dollar resort fee vs. no fee at PH.
The one bedroom suite is pretty swank with a fireplace and all sorts of goodies.

Damn I can't wait to get there. I'm way too excited.

Damn jay. I'm jealous of your 2 more days. I have a basic room booked at PH for my trip. It's AVN like you said so I don't know if the 20 or 50 dollar trick will get me a good upgrade. So I'm still considering moving my stay to Palms Place. They have sweet looking suites. Plus there is a trader joes in Vegas...so i wouldn't mind making some meals at home. For those who don't know...trader joes is fucking awesome.
