When I fly in, I usually ask the cab to stop by the CVS (I think it is CVS) on Harmon and Paradise on the way to the strip. As long as you're in and out quick, the cab fare isn't too much more and the snacks/booze are the typical CVS prices versus the increased strip drug store prices.

I usually rent a car and head out to a walmart, however, CVS, walgreens, and all those places would work just as well. It's just i'm cheap and walmart is usually the cheapest.

Leave space in your checked luggage? You'll get your luggage back to take through customs then you'll give it back to the airline outside customs for your Vegas flight, so you could stick it in there then.

Why not buy in Vegas airport when you land?

I take this recommendation back... I stopped by last weekend and it appeared slightly remodeled without the typical CVS discount prices.

+1, Lee's is a great place to stop and get some cheap liquor. I remember on time we went, they had 1.75L of Grey Goose for $41.99 on sale!! That made for some excellent pre-gaming.

Have the cabbie stop at a liquor store on the way from the airport. There is one right out there on the way...we usually do that, then load up on champagne, and various kinds of booze. Very easy and much cheaper than the hotel.

Holy crap!! I thought the $41.99 was an excellent deal but I'm glad to know they can go lower.
