This is the #1 ranked hotel on trip advisor and is always the most expensive when Im looking at booking hotel rooms. I did a little research on it but does anyone have any experience with this place?

As far as Vegas, its not for everyone. Most of us and like many others want a place with a casino attached to it. There are certain clientele for the Mandarin and they know that. Their focus is mainly high class service.
Being in Vegas, we all know there are plenty of those of hotels we can get great service. The people I know that have stayed at the Mandarin are well off travelers that have stayed at other Mandarin's all over the world. So when they see that its available at a certain place, they know to stay there since they always look for that level of service.***Feb 2012 - Aria - Marquee *** March 2012 - Encore - Marquee, Surrender

I work for Four Seasons, which competes with Mandarin at the top of all brands. So naturally I wanted to check out the Mandarin and see what it was about. It nice, the front desk and lobby bar are on the 20ish floor with a sweet view of the city. It feel like you are not in Vegas. But if you want a nice quiet place to retreat at night then by all means Mandarin or Four Seasons Vegas are the places to go.June 12-15 2014 Aria

I guess there's a niche crowd trump , four seasons and mandarin want to serve in Vegas.....I'm actually very surprised trump and mandarin are still in business , trump particularly besides its a good distance from a casino , no shows to offer and I havnt heard of any land mark restaurants that they have...Appreciate Vegas
Next Trip 4/26!

The Mandarin and Four Seasons make up a very small percentage of rooms in Vegas. So ya there will be that 1%er lol that would be into the non-casino hotels.***Feb 2012 - Aria - Marquee *** March 2012 - Encore - Marquee, Surrender

I love staying at the M.O. hotels, but just not in Vegas. Like everyone else said here, it's just not the right vibe for Vegas.
They do have an excellent restaurant called Twist. Chef is one of the greatest in Paris and this is his only restaurant in America. They also have a nice cocktail lounge with views over the strip. It's not a party place (nothing in this hotel is), but the cocktails are absolutely superb.
I think it's really nice to have a place that's luxurious and elegant (in the classical sense) that's still in the center of the action. I like to mix it up wherever I am, and this is a good way to do it with class when in Vegas."Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess." -Oscar Wilde

i stayed there in November just to check it out.... very nice hotel but reminds me more of a 5-star business hotel you'd find in Tokyo or NYC, not Vegas.
the good thing is the location and service is top notch. Target demo is probably 40+ year old business people and those who want a nice hotel in vegas but not all the business/noise of a casino.
only hotel that charges to valet your car (AFAIK). $20 per night...
