  • PH March 2012

    Hi there,

we're a group of 3 Germans planning to visit Vegas in March 2012 (Exact Dates: March, 14th - March, 21st.) and meet with a lot of old friends from NY. We want to stay in a "Panorama Suite" in PH.

Booking the panorama suite over Expedia isn't possible. Our current "best" offer for 7 nights including flight Frankfurt/Germany - Vegas with American Airlines and stay in two "Hollywood Hip Rooms" is 1050 $ / person.

Is there any possibility to book the panorama suite with good rates via internet or should we take the offer from expedia and try to upgrade when arriving in the PH? We could try the "sandwich trick" but we prefer to book it regular.

    Thx for your help

At PH the usual "sandwich upgrade" will be a resort/mountain room or room with a view. At check-in there will be a upgrade book on the counter. The panorama suite was offered for around $300 a night extra last time I was there. I got it for $150 a night extra after talking with the manager.

Honestly, the new PH tower rooms are nicer than than the Panorama suite. The Panorama had an incredible view, but it was a little out dated IMO. Id prefer a PH tower suite or 1br suite at Palms Place.

Its harder to get an upgrade like that for free on a long stay. If it was a 1-2 night stay, its easier to get bigger upgrades. They just want to reserve those for paying customers for that long of a stay.

I've seen the Panorama Suites at Planet and they are pretty nice. but the Panorama/corner 2bedroom suite at PH Towers is much better in my opinion. The PH Towers and Planet Hollywood hotel are run separate so you would have to contact a different reservation office.

check out youtube. there's some videos of the rooms from other people. PH towers has a regular 2 bedroom suite and they have that corner 2 bedroom penthouse or something.

I think the answer is yes: are ALL the PH Towers suites non-smoking? If so, that takes them completely off the radar for my group.

ya PH Towers is a non-smoking building. We were near the end so the smoker friends ended up smoking in the stairwell. I know not right. There were a bunch of people at all hours downstairs right outside the door by the parking lot entrance hanging out smoking. LOL. Maybe good way to meet other people as well. haha.

            Hegg,

You might also try calling the hotel directly and speaking with the front desk. You can probably just upgrade your reservation over the phone after you book the Expedia deal online. I think you'll be able to do this, but I'm sure the hotel can let you know whether this is possible or not.

A lot of time with travel sites like Expedia they'll have a block of rooms to sell and the hotel won't see specific details about the reservation until close to the arrival date. This is especially true if it's a special deal that you can't see on the hotel's own website.

Can't hurt to try, but I suspect they will run into problems.
