  • Penthouse Suites et al

I'm planning a trip with the crew (3 + myself), and looking for a large suite to use as a base of operations. Have been scouring the net, prior to find this website, I was only able to surface the usual marketing material, and some less than helpful video clips. From the information I have found thus far, I am leaning towards some of the HRH Penthouse suites and the larger suites in the Palms Fantasy tower. But quite honestly, paying $15k - $35k per night for a SkyVilla@Palms is RIDICULOUS! Especially considering the low # of bedrooms/beds. The reason I even mention the SkyVillas, is for a point of reference in terms of style/amenities. This being said, has anyone stayed in any of the HRH Penthouse Suites (ie. Altered States, Living Art)? I would love to hear any feedback, see any pictures, to help in the decision. In addition, if anyone knows of any other comparable suites located in other properties, I'm all ears.

Note: We are 27-34 in age. 4 or 5 night stay. Nighttime gameplan will be megaclub + Drais.

    Thanks

I'd try to stay on the strip, rather than @ HRH or Palms. Neither is convenient if you plan to bar/club hop, unless you plan to limo your way around all night.

Drais is pretty much center-strip, so you could penthouse @ Caesar's, across the street, where you can hit up Pure (in Caesar's) before Drai's (across the street @ Bill's.. or, rather under Bill's)

This depends on your budget. Personally the palms suites are not all that great and the service sucks. You can look into encore's apartments. 2-3k for a 2 bdrm adn 3-5 k for a 3 bdrm thats a duplex with a media room, elevator, and pool table.

SkyLofts are good though showing their age. think 2ish for a 2 bedroom maybe less and 3-5 for the 3 bedrooms.

Aria has skyvillas that will be much better than the palms too. Im not sure why you'd want to stay at HRH either.

Cosmo's specialty pents start in the 3 range and go up, Bellagio has villas as does mirage.

If it were me I'd prob go with Encore.

The original decision for HRH/Palms was based on information describing the atmospheres in each. I do like that Caesar's is across the street from Drais. When I originally looked at Caesar's though, the rooms just looked dated, and as if they smelled of grandpa's day old cigar smoke. LOL. But I am warming up to the idea of staying there. I'll check out those suggestions, and reply.

Thanks for the suggestions, sorry about the delayed response, been really busy. I did look into PH and Cosmo, REALLY liked Cosmo. I found a video of a really beautiful 4-bed penthouse suite @ Cosmo. I contacted them to try and find out the damage, availability, etc , but the person I initially spoke with said that the "premium" units are reserved for "hotel guests and VIPs" and directed me to their website (even though the units I'm interested in aren't listed on there). After some prodding, and requesting "how to establish VIP status" (ie. how much will it cost) she advised that I would need to speak with a "VIP host" as they have more power to make things happen. I was put on hold for awhile, but had to hangup because something popped up. Once I firm up the dates with the other gents, I will re-engage them. It looks as if I will have to open the "cheque book" and demand what I want - I guess this is the norm though.

Certain travel agents have experience booking these if you want a 4 bedroom you are going to be looking at 5-10K. My travel agent does these kind of books and most high end firms are versed in this.

I figured it would cost around that much, but wanted some more definite numbers and to find out what other options were available. I had considered the travel agent approach, but I have always appreciated more of a DIY approach - as it allows me to expand my own knowledge base and hopefully establish direct relationships with the necessary players. When I was researching the HRH SkyVilla I thought maybe using a certain credit card would be of benefit (figured the $25k+ was just a crude attempt at publicity, and that the unit was mostly comped), but they said "No" when contacted. I read some where else that if you wire a certain amount of $ to the hotel/casino prior to your arrival you pop up on their radar and would most likely get a penthouse comped. But none of the crew I'm traveling with are gamblers much, they just like to party. Update while writing - Spoke with someone just now, they advised that I will be able to book it, just that I would have to avoid "big gambling" weekends (ie. SuperBowl etc). Thanks all.

Yeah same here, most of the time I go I don't gamble as much as I used to...myself and others have been spending a lot of money on dayclubs and nightclubs especially at Marquee. Only problem is that Marquee isn't ran by Cosmo it's by Tao Management and not sure if this is a lot, but I've spent over $10k in the past few months at this location.

                      >> Not the bugalow suite, I did see that video as well, the one I viewed didn't appear to have enough beds. I'll PM you the URL in after this message, need to increase my number of posts.

                      >> Agreed. I have no problem spending $$$ at nightclubs. One of the reasons I also like the Cosmo is because of Marquee. Though the main hotel doesn't manage it, it would be great if spending habits in the hotel translate into benefits in the club and vice versa. Though different managing entities, I'm pretty sure there is some translation. If there wasn't, they wouldn't have a "cohesive/seamless property experience" for lack of a better term - which would result in less dollars for both long-term.

Some people spend $10k on 1 bottle or 1 hand of BJ.

first, i think you or they full of shit. $25,000 a night in vegas doesnt exist anymore. if i was told that by anyone id tell them to fuck off and let me talk to the managers. except for a coupel nights a year ALL the hotels are empty. seriously, you can rent a floor in the B for that. but anyway....

most places have their own villas you can rent. the wynn is nice. they have butlers as well.

as above, if you can get a sky villa at Aria, get it. they ROCK.

This place wa awesome and not too expensive. Pool was off the chain...we got it for about 1500 per night but wasn't a busy week in town. Catered food in, booze...owner was cool too.
