Ok this is for everyone that is curious about the Palms Place and are thinking of staying there. This is not going to cover the clubs and will just be on the hotel itself.
First thing you need to know is that Palms Place has its own entrance versus the rest of the Palms. This is key when checking in. The nice part about this is that this entrance has ZERO casino in it so you aren't greeted with second hand smoke.
The rooms are insane and are expertly decorated. We stayed in a one bedroom that was on a corner. Our view included mountains and the strip. We also had 2 balconies which was nice even though it was 40 degrees outside.
The room had a full sized fridge, dish washer, washer/dryer, amazing shower and tub in the bedroom. The sofa pulled out for a queen that wasn't too comfortable apparently, but my buddy made due.
To get from the Palms Place to the casino, you have to walk down the hallway that goes on forever. Seriously it's a long walk. So much so they have not one, but two moving sidewalks for it. If any of you have travelled through Ohare Airport and used the walkway from terminal B to C (the one with the neon lights featured in a P. Diddy video) that was short compared to this one.
The food court was nice, but unfortunately the only thing open 24/7 was McDonalds. I would have liked it if the hotdog place was open late. There's a movie theater just off the food court that makes you think there's more than just 4 quick places to get food.
The buffet looked great, but every time I wanted to eat there there was either a massive line or it was closed. It's too bad cause I wanted to eat there, but didn't.
The cheap Mexican bar/restaurant wasn't bad. Service was good and the food was tasty.
The other more expensive places, well I didn't get to those either.
The casino was rather lacking. I've stayed at Venetian, Flamingo and Palms now with the Palms casino seeming to be the worst. There wasn't all the excitement that you find at other casinos. Even when it was prime gambling time (10pm) it was boring. And the poker room was tiny. I think there were 6 tables in there. What a joke.
As for the table games I was disappointed by the lack of variety. Games I noticed missing were Let Em Ride, 4 card poker, and a couple of the variations of Holdem.
The crowd at the hotel was mostly 25-35 from what I could gather. This made for a good time when we were there in the casino as we fall into that demographic.
Would we stay at the Palms again? Maybe, maybe not. While our room was definitely amazing, I am sure there are just as good of rooms at other hotels on the strip. Additionally being off strip made for a lot of taxi rides and it almost felt a little secluded (not good or bad).
Hope this helps anyone thinking of staying here.
