I wouldn't see you having any issues. Those are similar to what I usually wear and I've never had an issue.Originally posted by mattcafc View Post
Guy's can I wear shoes like this to clubs in Vegas? I'm not into the 'black leather dress shoes' shoes like that are more like the thing you wear to School here in England, or with a suit. Never with jeans.
I usually wear desert boots, or brogues, but not plain black etc

No one said they have to be black... But leather is preferred to canvas/suede I think.Originally posted by mattcafc View Post

I rock the Allen Edmonds Walnut Strands. Amazing looking shoe, super comfortable, and I've never had a problem getting in anywhere.

some of us just hate the dress shoes and jeans look, I like boat shoes and driving shoes, but these are for daytime. I like suede dress shoes, but theres always the chance they will be ruined. This year im thinking of getting a pair of Tassel shoes
http://www.colehaan.com/pinch-tassel...shoes&start=96
I think these look good with raw denim with the pant leg cropped or rolled, but again that more of a daytime look.
I was also thinking about wearing my balenciaga's
http://www.balenciaga.com/ca/sneaker_cod44601461uv.html
or are these too risky?
If worse comes to worse ill go get a pair of monk straps
http://www.johnvarvatos.com/richards...k/d/6448C11997
FYI John Varvatos usually have good shoes for guys that are not 100% with dress shoes
or just a pair of Paul smith Dress shoes.

What do you think ?

What is there to hate about dress shoes with jeans? If your jeans or nice, it looks great.
Those balenciaga's look like shit IMO.
Double monks are great, but why spend so much? These look just as nice, are American made, great quality, and are less than half the price... I love the Bourbon calf ones: http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline...40000000001_-1
Paul Smith's are nice but holy expensive. I wouldn't wear those to a club.Next Trip: October 28-31, 2016

I think some Guys can pull it off and some guys can't, I know guys that don't wear sunglasses, i also know guys that don't wear hats... i think you're right about the type of jeans/pants you're wearing. i personally like suede dress shoes with jeans, but have a hard time with leather on jean (more in black than brown). However i've heard other guys say this.... lol @ the balenciaga's you either hate em or love em, and if i can get away with wearing those to the club i definitely only because it suits my type of style

My rule of thumb with shoes is to wear something that you won't mind if it gets ruined. Someone will either spill a drink, step on you, or otherwise will scuff your shoes. It never fails.Originally posted by chrisbru View PostWhat is there to hate about dress shoes with jeans? If your jeans or nice, it looks great.

That being said, I don't want to get off on a shoe rant, but I agree with chrisbru - there's no reason to throw $600+ away buying Varvatos shoes with RUBBER treads. That's insane. Really well-constructed shoes that are goodyear-welted (like AE), can be picked up for a third of the Varvatos shoes on sale, and can last twenty years or more with recrafting. Take the $400+ and use it elsewhere.
I actually got a pair of AE double-monks yesterday. I went in expecting to buy the Bourbon, but walked out with the brown instead. Quality, quality product.

Agree. The Balenciaga look like an ugly ass pair of Jordans.Originally posted by chrisbru View PostWhat is there to hate about dress shoes with jeans? If your jeans or nice, it looks great.

I like that rule and that's really good advice, didn't know that JV was a low quality shoe... either way it's not that i would have went for that particular i just generally like the monk strap style and think that it's a shoe that i might be able to pull off with jeans. don't know if we have AE in Canada, but i think i saw a nice pair of Monk's at Cole Haan

Some guys can't pull of dress shoes with jeans? That doesn't make any sense. These aren't accessories like sunglasses or hats, which can do funny things to your face depending on your facial structure and hair. These are shoes. Literally every guy can pull of good looking dress shoes with jeans. I'm not saying everyone has to wear that, but generally its a lot safer than trying to shirk the norm when it comes to clubs.Originally posted by boxim View PostI think some Guys can pull it off and some guys can't, I know guys that don't wear sunglasses, i also know guys that don't wear hats... i think you're right about the type of jeans/pants you're wearing. i personally like suede dress shoes with jeans, but have a hard time with leather on jean (more in black than brown). You should be able to order online from AE. They really are great shoes. Cole Haan is decent for the money, but never pay full price for them... Wait for a sale. I have a pair of Cole Haan captoes that are solid, but I wouldn't pay more than about $120 for them.Originally posted by boxim View PostI like that rule and that's really good advice, didn't know that JV was a low quality shoe... either way it's not that i would have went for that particular i just generally like the monk strap style and think that it's a shoe that i might be able to pull off with jeans. don't know if we have AE in Canada, but i think i saw a nice pair of Monk's at Cole HaanNext Trip: October 28-31, 2016

I've never owned JV shoes, so I have no first-hand experience, but the description on the website definitely sounds like they are not crafted on the same level as some other good quality brands.Originally posted by boxim View PostI like that rule and that's really good advice, didn't know that JV was a low quality shoe... either way it's not that i would have went for that particular i just generally like the monk strap style and think that it's a shoe that i might be able to pull off with jeans. don't know if we have AE in Canada, but i think i saw a nice pair of Monk's at Cole Haan
If you like the monkstraps, check this out for some different brands - the Cole-Haans are in there as well.

Thanks for the link PorkChop, they have some really nice styles on there.
Chris the brown shoe you posted is really nice, and i think those would definitely, look good with jeans. Maybe im just not a good shoe picker, but i assure you im not the only guy that has a hard time matching dress shoes with jeans.
