This pretty much encapsulates my thoughts on going hard in Vegas. I am planning a trip in September from Friday - Monday leaving Monday at 11:00AM and I am planning on doing 2 nightclubs, 2 dayclubs, nightswim on sunday and potentially hitting drai's after hours before jumping in the cab for the airport. If I am going to be in Vegas 3 days a year I plan on maximizing every second. I have had trips where the people I was with suggested a movie to "relax" for the night, screw that!

+1...if I want to relax I will go to Maui, there is a reason my Vegas trips are only 3 days long, power thru!

Yes, you can. Take a nap. Suck up buttercup.. If it doesn't take you two weeks to recover from Vegas you're doing it wrong.

          This.
Once I get to the club I'm fine. The challenge is just getting there. Gotta have will power.

            thanks for the tips guys.

looks like i will have to up my cardio and rest before i hit up vegas.(that way i will be prepared if in case i get tired)

Looks like i will go to EBC after all. ANyway here's my strategy

            1. stay hydrated
            2. not drink too much during the dayclub EBC
            3. buffet afterwards
            4. sleep for 2-3 hours and get ready
            5. go hard at XSnightswim
            6. crash

haha "take a nap" good luck with that. i tried to get some sleep but it's difficult(even if you are tired) because so much stuff is going through my head. It's like i'm tired but still in "party mode".

I tried it one time: Got blasted, Passed out, woke up at 11:30pm.

              2/10 would not repeat

props to those who can do it though!
you woke up at 11:30 pm? after going to a day club and a night club? so you pretty much slept the whole day afterwards.

ended up with DVT on the plane home
              what is DVT?

Loooools. It's so sad but it's so true. I tried to explain this to some of my work colleagues and it's fair to say their opinion of me halved! Luckily there are two guys from work of the same ilk who will be tagging along this year.

                  Preach

DVT = deep vein thrombosis (blood clot)

If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

I sleep between dayclub and nightclub. The key for me is pre-vegas. I usually wake up at 4am during the week anyway, which is 2am Vegas time. So the week before Vegas, Ill start getting up at midnight (10pm Vegas time), and get used to that schedule. I try to always leave the dayclub by 5pm and asleep by 6pm. Ill naturally wake up at 10pm, and Im ready for the nightclub. And you better power drink water before going to sleep, or your going to feel like shit regardless of sleep.

For me the hardest part is getting everyone else in shape. Last time we did Daylight/XS/EBC/Nightswim Sat & Sun. I had to literally drag my buddies to EBC kicking and screaming, but they all agree now that was the best part of the trip once the pitchers were flowing, and even made it to XS on the night. Monday was hard work, but I'd take that trade off every single time.

for me a nap, once I have started drinking, is not in the equation. I also have no self control. once I turn the switch on im all in. im gonna try and do a pool party but get there late maybe 330. for my system im better off that way.

Doing it again, but honestly, it never works out. One time, we didnt even drink or enjoy ourselves. Second time, I never made it, just ate dinner and watched a movie (Ironically I wanted to make it out too)

Well I guess I can be less disappointed in my friends. It seems like a decent number of people have trouble partying all day and partying all night. I highly recommend drinking around a minimum of a beer every 2 hours between the pool party and club to keep from crashing and going into hangover mode. If you take a nap just make sure to have a drink next to the bed so you can have one as soon as you wake up.

                              Example of not doing that:

When you stop drinking you are unlikely to enjoy yourself. If you literally couldn't drink because you were in so bad of shape, then you overdid it during the day.

I'm with DNIX, live in NYC, I start pre conditioning a week early with sleep cycles, hydration not drinking. Always do wed to Monday. 5 nights and 4 days .....table service always . And like DNIX said......key part of day is food/dinner at 6pm....sleep 730-930.....shower then club. Must have the two hour power nap. Plus the 5 hours 530a-1030a....try it
