  • Why cant it just be simple?

All i want to do is go to a club and enjoy myself. Simple.

So why is it so complicated?

I get a price off a clubs host, post the price on here and then get told that there's no chance i'm getting what i've been quoted.

Why cant i just get a price, go to the club, pay the price and go in?

18 days to go until i'm in vegas, i should be exciting but i'm just getting stressed.

Hand shakes? 3 different types of tax? Tips? Prices going up?

Is there an easier way of doing things?

They have that with presale tickets. You buy it, you print it out, you get in the presale line, show them the printout (or just your phone), and you are in.

Sadly bottle service isn't quite there yet in Vegas. There has been a movement toward clubs selling tables through wantickets or their own ticket system, but sadly a lot of the times these prices are just pre-gouged from what a host could get you. I'd definitely be more interested in tables if pricing wasn't quite so nebulous.

The problem is tables are really one of the few things left in this world with truly dynamic supply and demand based pricing and realistically it's probably maximizing their profits compared to doing it any other way. The number of people who are turned off by the uncertain nature of the pricing are probably the same people who wouldn't find the premium price of a table attractive to begin with.

Yer, were doing a few presale tickets and weve booked a bed at wet at night on tuesday 3rd sept for $500 min and a bed at Daylight on saturday 5th sept for $1000 min. Also had a quote for wet republic on sunday 6th sept for $2500 which id probly take but i've had people on here saying that them prices are too low and would get increased and theres nothing i can do about it. Bit of a bad way of going about things.

It gets easier over time, however if you only do Vegas once every few years it can be really frustrating. I would recommend looking through the host appreciation thread and sticking to the people listed there or talking with someone like DeX from the JC site. Those of us that go often have certain hosts that we trust and work thru, which makes it easier to plan.

could be once in a lifetime this holiday, that's why i'm stressing. just want everything to go smooth and not turn up to a surprise bump in the price or even worse the table not being available. ill have a look through that thread and see if there anyone who maybe i could re-book through.

biggest thing is not to go in too high of expectations and not try to micro manage everything.
What I will say though is if you are worried about table mins, ask for quotes the week of and even one two days before and whatever you are quoted will be good. Often times if things don't go as planned is because people arrive late, just get there when the venue opens for your table and you will be fine. Yes sometimes things can go wrong anyway but more often than not you will get what you want in terms of tables.

I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent. So use your time to gather information, get estimates of costs, but be prepared for your entire plans to change.

I have had the quoted table mins change more often than not in Vegas. My group has shown up several times over the last 4 years and the mins have doubled in a lot of cases. Twice at wet on non holiday weekends. I am now considering just pre-gaming in the casino and GA via guestlist going forward.
The service aspect of LV is just not there IMO, and I have always used JC recommended hosts. The clubs and pools get greedy based on demand; have a backup plan if that happens. You can still have a great time with a host walk in.

Honestly i think there is a difference in the old JC hosts that used to be listed on the site as "recommended" and the forum recommended hosts. I go with personal recommendations and haven't been let down yet. Now I also don't usually go on holiday weekends, which probably makes a difference also.

From what I've read Wet Republic has a pretty bad record with regard to price changes. I really hope more people include those kind of details in their trip reports so we can get a better idea of who exactly is more accurate with their quotes.

Yeah, people should definitely report getting bumped, and who they used. I usually investigate the claim, and if it becomes a pattern, Ill take the host off the forum list. I understand unforeseen circumstances, but most of the time, host should be experienced enough to get a quote at least close. It certainly shouldnt be doubled at the door. Regarding Wet, Joe Santiago assured me things like this wouldnt happen with his resos. Please LMK if it does.
