  • Marquee vs. Drai's

Heading to Vegas in July and looking to have a good night out with a nice but reasonable min spend table for 6 (Omnia/Hakk out). Group is interested in trying a new spot and it seems that Marquee or Drai's are the best options for similar min spend tables. Anyone been to both and have some input on them? Which has a bigger dance floor? Better atmosphere?

    Thanks!

I've not been Marquee for a while but its not big. It does generate a great atmosphere, id say more so that Drais but last time I went I was on a 7k table for Avicii with a load of swedish chicks so im biased!

Id imagine Marquee is more expensive depending on talent. I like what Drais are doing with their live shows though. I'd be there in a heartbeat for Breezy's show

Unless there is a concert, Drai's is going to be more budget friendly for a main room table.

No act is announced yet for Drai's on the night in question (July 11th) and Marquee has Cash Cash. Our group is deciding between those two and XS with Deadmau5, although we've all been to XS before and table min's inside are higher than the other two. Marquee or Drai's can get an inside table for <$2k while XS is $3k+

I love Marquee, but Cash Cash hasn't drawn a big crowd lately and their sets have been subpar.

Thanks for the input avseg! Cash Cash isn't an easy act to get a read on as there isn't much out there of their live sets. One of the few I found was from Tomorrowland and they kept breaking into the music to talk to the crowd every couple minutes... annoying as heck imho

I was wrong about the acts that night. Cash Cash is playing Marquee Dayclub....

that night is Benny Benassi at Marquee. That's a pretty good dj option depending on what Drai's pulls that night.

Table wise - how do the two compare? Good spots? Bad spots to avoid?

Lower dollar/bottle minimums will put you on the outside patio. Drais lower end tables will be against the wall.

My last couple trips I been enjoying Drais more...more spacious and not as cramped up like Marquee.

Thanks Donnie.... any thoughts on the two crowds? I'd heard some minor negatives about the crowd at Drai's...

Marquee will still pull the best crowd. Drai's on a Friday didn't sell out even the main room when we were there two weeks ago. There are deals to be had at Drai's, so if you're budget conscious that would be my pick. If the min doesn't really matter, Marquee.

My quotes on min's for the night are pretty similar... Drai's either slightly less or better table/inside for the same 2 bottle approximate spend. They're close enough in cost that it's going to come down to music/scene making the choice for us.

Benny Benassi is a known DJ to me although not a huge name, Drai's is unknown but likely to be a tier 2 DJ and then XS with Deadmau5 is holding in back-up position. Just trying to figure out where best to spend $1500....

Two years ago, it was raining on the Strip, so initially, they closed off the outside pool area. Our table at Marquee was stuck in the back right (if you're looking out from the main stage/dance floor) - not a good location at all. Wasn't my call, though - one of the dudes arranged everything. Don't get that table, if you can at all help it: it's very much out of the way and difficult to see anything - little foot traffic and view of stage obscured by pillars/wall.

I really like benny benassi's sets. He can really mix it up depending on the club he is playing. From underground techno to electro to house

I'd recommend going to see him if you like electronic music

Drais is more known to be a open-format/hip-hop club, so I'd pick based on music you would like.

If all-in amount is the same and you can get a good table location, I'd take Marquee.

Drais has tons of industry deals during the week, so if I was in your shoes I would visit Drai's on another day and go with Marquee for this particular night!

Thanks for that input Ocam. Our group is all electronic music fans and I've got at least a dozen of Benassi's tracks on my ipod but I haven't seen him live.

I'm leaning towards Marquee unless the dj at Drai's is comparable. They seem to have a variety on Saturdays with Makj last weekend and Chris Brown the weekend before. Don't think we'll be able to make a choice until we know who Drai's is going to have.
