July 10th Weekend

Hi,

I am coming out to Las Vegas on July 10th and plan on checking out some of the NBA Summer League games during the day on Friday and Saturday July 10th and 11th

I am looking to get some suggestions for clubs to hit at night July 10th and 11th.

I am more into open format when it comes to music as I prefer Hip Hop / Top 40 / Radio Dance music....so I would rather like to avoid the clubs that are strictly EDM

Can I have some recommendations for Friday and Saturday night clubs that are known to be open format when it comes to the music that is played.

I am also going to look to hit a pool party on Sunday during the day....so a recommendation for a pool party for Sunday would be great as well....also would like to stick with open format when it comes to the music for the Sunday pool party as well.

First off, are you coming alone or with a group? That will help narrow down whether or not it's worth it for you to go GA or BS.

Although I haven't yet been there, I've heard from many that even though Omnia's main room is EDM, its Heart of Omnia, which is a smaller section within the main club, is all hip hop and mainstream. That area also has lower table minimums so if you are travelling with friends or planning on getting BS, it's cheaper than going to the main room. But from what I hear, the energy and ambiance of the main room is amazing and worth checking out, even if EDM isn't your style, and you have main room access even if your table is in Heart of Omnia. Hakkasan is also more known for being one of the biggest clubs that's primarily EDM, but it also has its Ling Ling Lounge, which is all hip hop. I offer those two first because they seem to be the most popular and definitely amongst the biggest (sizewise) of all the clubs on the strip, and they offer the best of both worlds.

If you'd prefer to scale it back a little or don't really care about going to the biggest clubs, your next tiers are probably Tryst, Drai's, or Marquee. These are still great clubs, I've been to all of them and believe me, they get crowded, but they're not the monster sized clubs like the first two. Tryst and Drai's are always running bottle specials too if you're looking to do that, and musically, I think you'll like the variety that's offered.

If you want to scale it back even further and go to lower level tier clubs, that aren't very popular on these forums, but are definitely meeting your criteria of hip hop/top 40/mainstream, you'll want to try the likes of Hyde, 1OAK, or even Chateau. Musically, they all meet what your looking for. In terms of actual club style, I listed them in order of most "upscale" in this category to least.

With regards to pool parties, if you're thinking of the "dayclubs" you may like either Drai's or Tao Beach. I'm personally not a fan of Tao Beach because I don't like how tiny the pool is in comparison to how many cabanas there are, but if music is your primary concern, it's right up your alley. I actually haven't been to Marquee Day Club, but that may be fitting what you're looking for as well.

I think the first thing to figure out is whether you want to go to the club for music preference or for overall energy, crowd, ambiance, light show, etc. That will help easily narrow down where you should go.

I'd second what she said regarding Hakkasan and Omnia. Both have hip hop/open format rooms and you'd still have the option to check out the main room for the energy.

Honestly, most of vegas has gone to EDM and that's really what people go to see so most of the options suggested are going to be EDM heavy. That doesn't mean they don't mix in some open format in their sets.
