  • Advice - July Trip

    Hi All

I am coming to Vegas end of July from the UK for a week! Yes a week! 7 guys and only I have been to Vegas before...so 6 newbies in tow.

I want to make sure they experience Vegas as best as possible and get a good overall feel for the place.

Being 7 guys, we do not want to do GA or pre-sale, don't want to queue or be squeezed on dance floors but are limited on budgets for bottle service so its a case of setting up good deals when we can to make out money go as far as possible.

Also, it may sound crazy but we really aren't that fussed about the whole pool party thing, we are evening drinkers who will need the following days to recover. If we were there for just a few days then i would battle through, but for a week, we want a bit of downtime too.

Plan to explore the strip, shoot guns, shop and maybe visit a few other pools in the days.

Music wise/DJ wise, we want a bit of everything as all have different likes. Not going to be drawn to somewhere just for the DJ, want a good mix of venues, types, music, people, etc as all the clubs as miles better than UK so anything will be great.

I am really looking for help/guidance on our nightlife plans:

Tues - Land and explore the strip for drinks/dinner - possibly Hyde depending on how the flight was
    Weds - Downtown
    Thurs - BS at Drais
    Fri - BS at Tryst
Sat - BS at 1Oak or Bank? Any other suggestions for good value BS on a Saturday?
    Sun - XS Nightswim
Monday - Easy night before flying home the following day, but if we have any energy left then Marquee

I have reached out to a few hosts and know the Thurs - Sun is in budget at these places for BS.

Any suggestions? Thoughts on alternatives for these nights? What would you do differently?

    Thanks for the help!

Sounds like your the planning type and I'm sure all your buddies will appreciate that once it's all said and done.

I'm only going to give a couple of quick suggestions since it seems you've done your research.

First, I'd highly recommend checking out Omnia. It's the newest club in town and it's dope as fuck. The dance floor is huge, the lights/pyrotechnics are unparalleled and the energy is amazing in that place. It's a can't miss place to go. It's also one of the best (along with XS) for presale/GA.

This goes along with the second point. Don't be scared off by presale and not having BS. Honestly, if your guys have never been to Vegas, I'd prioritize checking out the newest and best clubs vs going to a lower tier and getting BS. At the end of the day, BS shouldn't be the deciding factor in every place you go to. I'd def want to see the best clubs in town since your coming from across the pond. Instead of 1Oak on Sat, I'd hit up Omnia. I just went over Memorial day weekend with 15 guys and we did presale and got in within 20 minutes everywhere we went.

Lastly, if you're doing stuff off the strip, I'd highly recommend checking out Exotic Racing. Where else are you able to drive quarter million dollar cars at 100+mph around a race track. If your into that sort of thing, check it out.

Have a look at club lineups- I know you say you don't care about music- but different events draw different crowds. For example a Calvin Harris event Omnia is different then Tryst local dj.
To help you plan nightclubs open around 11pm with headline djs on around 1am going till around 5am
Pool parties open around 11am with headline djs on around 3pm going till around 6pm.
      Tues- Omnia
      Weds- Wet Republic at Night
      Thursday ebc@night
Friday- big club big dj- choice
Sat. big club big dj- choice
      Sun- XS nightswim
      Monday-

I have seen a few folks posting lately that headliners are playing til 5am, is this happening more now? Most of my experience has been with headliners playing for 2-2.5 hours, maybe I have just been out on the wrong nights recently....

I'm in the minority but if you've seen one set by any of the big club DJs, you've seen them all, don't let a dj be the deciding factor. You can only here Outside and the CUBA breakdown in so many sets. The problem with going GA to a mega club is multi fold: a) waiting in lines b) waiting at the bar and spending 20+ a cocktail c) standing around looking for girls to talk to d) watching girls gets whisked away to tables e) just standing around with no general meeting point to chill. Part of that is just me being older and not wanting to put in work but also realizing I can have an awesome time anywhere with the right crew. Also a lot of second tier clubs comp more tables for the duration of a night than the big ones. The bigs will comp early and move them off if a big paying table comes in. Night swim is a different story, that's a free for all IMO and really makes it the best night in Vegas.
