  • Independent host?

    Hi everyone,

i'm looking for recommendations for an independent host....a good one that isn't going to try and tack on $1000s extra on our minimums above what a club host would. Basically there are 8 of us coming from the UK over LDW and we are happy to spend $$, but not to be ripped off. We plan on doing 2-3 pool parties and 3 tier 1 clubs (Omnia, Hakk plus one other i would think). On my past trips i have always gone direct to club hosts but i was thinking it would be easier to just have one really good reputable indy take care of the whole trip for us, walk us in, get us a good spot etc. Correct me if you think that's the wrong way to go.....

    Thanks

Hey mate, I will be there over LDW with a few lads (and I know of other groups going then) so perhaps we can combine our purchasing power.

Noah Ortiz has always been good to me and sorted out multiple clubs. If you want his details, shoot me a PM.

Otherwise, there are a stack of people recommended in the hosts thread
EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

Yes...he has been for a while now. He can set you up wherever.

ok cool i'll message him. On the basis an indy host isn't charging a set fee, how much should i be tipping him/her for the service? does the min spend of the events make a difference to how much i should tip and should it be nightly or part at the start part at the end of the trip? if so lets say he hooks up 3 nights out and 2 pool parties for 8 of us with a combined min spend of $25-30k ...

I would discuss it with the host in advance. But I would typically tip per event - just in case you don't make it to one of the events due to being exhausted or just not feeling like buying a table.

                $200 plus/minus $50 is a good guide (per event)

Agreed...as long as you're not trying to pull location upgrades without spending (which it doesn't appear you are) ocam's advice is right on as usual.
