  • Tipping the Host.

Going to Vegas and my host got me a buy 1 get 1 at Tao cause he has connections there. He got me a buy 2-1 at Drais the club he works at. He is working something for me the last night and its still open. It's a group of three and I was wondering is $200.00 tip each night appropriate and get me a good table? I wish I can tip a $1000.00 like some people on this site say. Sorry I don't have Mark Cubans money. I also take care of the bus boy and the bouncer as well usually $30 each.

tipping really up to you- but just be aware of regular deals for example drais does 2 for $600 vodka on Thursday and Sunday.
so are you tipping for a regular special?

looks like drais doesn't have big name booked fridays in june
compared with calvin harris at hak /omnia and kaskade at xs
I'm just trying to say the special might not be as big of a special as you think.

What's the normal you tip just to set something up for you? Either 1k or 1.5k min? Does 10% sound about right I don't want to be looked at as cheap but I also don't have an unlimited budget either

you should go with what you like best
I was looking at 6/12 DJ Ross One vs calvin harris vs kaskade

Not really sure the direction of this thread lol. To get back to the original question, have you had any talks with host about location at all? Because that plays a factor as well. If you're getting buy 1 get 1 at Tao but end up with a table in the hallway you'd want to know about that before hand and then see if you can tip for a better location.

Personally with buy 1 get 1 or similar deals, I work upfront with my host to get an idea of location and if a good location tip up to $200 and that's with the intention of building up a relationship with said host. Unless you're getting dance floor tables I wouldn't go higher, and you could definitely go lower and not "offend" the host. Pretty sure Dex and Noah have mentioned in threads before that most hosts don't really expect tips or big tips and anything you tip is above and beyond the average consumer. Those of us on the forums aren't thr average vegas club consumer and that's probably why you see larger tip amounts recommended on here than you might expect
