promoter question

All right. This is my last post before my trip. Sorry for the newbie questions.

I would assume it would not be right to be on a club's list with 2 different promoters. Is that true or is that OK? I don't want to jerk anyone around, but at this venue, I'd be dealing with a promoter I've never used, so in case they aren't legit, I was thinking I'd like to have a backup. But if this is just plain rude, then I won't do it. This is just for list, not BS.

Just list under 2 different names from people within your group. So have one promoter put your name on the list, and then have another promoter put your husband's name on the list. Whichever promoter is more responsive, or whichever promoter gives you better pricing is the one that you give when you get to the person with the clipboard.

Get on as many lists as you can for as many locations as you can, play the odds...depending on where you go and how busy they are...from what I've read on your other posts, you shouldn't have an issue being a woman, at worst case, your husband will have to pay a discounted cover.

You cant be added multiple times to lists. Once someone from the venue adds you and another person tries to go add it'll show up that you're already on there. I always recommend people contact promoters for guestlists because they get paid for that so they do whatever they can to make sure you show up and get in. Hosts dont get paid for guestlists and might not make it too much of a priority. Food for thought.

Thanks for all your advice, and espcially Jose for your insight. I had heard 3 different things from 3 different promoters so wasn't sure who was "right," and who to go with. Thanks to JC, I think I'm covered! Can't wait to get to Tao tonight!

On the other hand, hosts all have promoters/waitresses that they know and like, and will refer guestlist requests over to help them out. So it usually works out unless the host is a real jerk.
