There's a lot of people offering free guestlist on the Strip and on social media, what's the advantage of buying and paying for tickets?

Typically guest listing is only an option for girls, or groups with an even or better ratio, one girl for every guy at least. Pretty much girls always can guest list everywhere. Even ratio groups can do most venues except for tier 1 venues on Friday and Saturdays, but with so many clubs right now even a few tier 1s are allowing Friday and even Saturday for even ratio groups.

Guest listing means showing up usually in the first hour or so of the club being open. You must show up to the club by a certain time or the list will "close" and then you are stuck in GA. Also guest lists that promise guys will be free sometimes change their mind without telling you until you are at the door, of if they say it will be $20 they changed it to $30-$50.

Tickets are the price that tickets are, and they don't change last minute. If it's $30 and $3 fee, and you buy it, you are guaranteed entry, usually relatively late into the night, at that price.

For a group of all guys, buying tickets is the only sane option other than bottle service. For a mixed group on a Friday or Saturday, tickets allow your group to stay together if it's a club where only girls can guest list. If it's a mixed group and there is a free guest list, tickets allow you to show up later and be sure of what you are paying beforehand.

I typically guest list very often since I am always traveling to Vegas with my girlfriend. I've rarely paid to enter a club because of this, but have experienced the problems of guest lists before. There are no promises with guest lists, so for events that you absolutely need to attend tickets can be the right call. Being split up with some people from your group in one line and others in another is also a hassle since clubs are so large, loud, and packed it can take awhile to find people in them, another reason tickets are sometimes preferable.

Overall though if you find high quality, trustworthy promoters most of the time you will save significant quantities of money by guest listing compared to buying presale tickets. Just be prepared and have backup plans in case you group gets delayed or the terms change at the last minute.
