I saw a promoter on Facebook saying there are some 18+ events lined up during the week of EDC. Is this true? I have a 19 year old nephew wanting to go and see what Vegas is about so he can be ready for his 21st.

It's true there are normally 18+ parties the days leading up to the event. There's a trap/dubstep heavy event called Bassrush and Cosmo had a concert at the BLVD Pool last year headlined by Dash Berlin. I remember hearing about off strip pool parties as well.
Otherwise, EDC itself is an 18+ up event if you were able to find him a pass.
