  • XS Inside Out!

I’ve been to XS a few times before and will be headed back in May – we’ve got wristbands to the Exodus festival, which basically serves as presale. We’ll be there for Zedd on May 17th for Nightswim. For reference: tickets are 35$ on wantickets, exactly the same price as Skrillex the week before (counting out Avicii opening night and MDW).

We’ll be an even ratio group and most ladies won’t be wearing swim trunks. We won’t be doing BS (plans are for Thursday, Friday and Saturday – with no cash left for Nightswim!) – So my question is, are we assured that we won’t get stuck outside – since they’ll probably make us go through the back entry?

I’ve run into that issue in past trips (two different presale prices), if you don’t do BS on the outside area – good luck in getting a drink to the bars.

The inside is usually not open for Nightswim - it's outdoors only. Getting drinks from the bars isn't all that difficult, a lot of people hang out in the pool. You can also gamble outdoors and get your drinks that way.

That used to be true about it being outside only, but for larger DJs last year the inside has been open. The difference this season is that the DJs for Nightswim are looking like they are usually going to be top tier names almost every week, so we'll see if the inside is open more often. That said, I don't think the bar during Nightswim is particularly unmanageable. XS is definitely better than most when it comes to having speedy bartenders.

The thing I really don't understand is why you want to go to Nightswim and not wear swimsuits and stay outside. It just seems like a waste of an opportunity. If you really want to stay inside I suggest using the main entrance and then just never leaving the inside. They moved the guest list entrance to the back for larger events last year and then were charging for entrance to the inside, so if given the option of where to enter with those wristbands try to enter at the main entrance.

Since you are with Exodus getting in isn't your issue. That's looking like a busy weekend, and the outside will be open during Zedd. The outside has been open the last three years that weekend, and I don't think that will change. If the ladies aren't wearing swimsuits they might as well stay inside all night. They might hold the entrance to the inside a bit if they hit capacity, but you should be able to go back and forth. Getting on the dancefloor is another matter.

Thanks for the advice - I went twice last year (mid-May and LDW) and both times the inside was open for Nightswim - both times having to get in through the back (with presale): quick entry as it should be, rather than the wait for main entrance/GA... I guess I've run into the "outside only" issue since it was Afrojack/opening night and Zedd/LDW - must have been more of a timing issue then a new trend for XS (which is basically what I'm asking - if it's now the norm, guess it's not).

And as far as ladies not wanting to go with swim trunks - I'm with you... tried to told them more than once, but you know, they're looking to show-off those many little dresses after having been pool-partying for three days... It's a free world...

Thanks for the info - the issue was more of having to enter through the back with wristband/presale (not being able to choose which entry to go) and getting told that it was "outside only" (two different presale prices I'm guessing - only one allowing for inside/out)... but I guess it was more of a timing issue (going for opening night and LDW) and not a trend... to make sure we're ok inside/out this time around

The last few summers have seen a drop-off in talent once July hits. All the big names are out on the festival circuit (Europe, Asia, etc.). As for the bar, last year they had one inside bar open, to the right as you walked in through the main entrance and there was zero line for that one. But the inside was closed otherwise.
