I would guess that location inside Cosmo is what drives Marquee's attendance.
Fair point, I would imagine 90% of folks going to clubs don't know what tiers are (since its not any official type of ranking system, a lot of fun to discuss here on the boards tho). But I also don't think people randomly straggle into long lines with $40-$150 cover charges without knowing a little about the place. Location definitely plays a role, but the huge pictures of Calvin Harris and Tiesto on the side of MGM Grand certainly help drive people to find out what Hakkasan is all about.

Saw Neil Moffitt (hakkasan boss) give an interview talking about Calvin saying calvin has sold 55 million singles and 2 billion streams on spotify. Plus his songs are on the radio all over.
For someone like Deadmau5 he has a more niche audience he tweeted about omnia-

Love the response by DJ Digga on that Deadmau5 tweet: "thats the last thing i want to do in Vegas: fuck megaclubs. I live in Denver. We got enough of those." I have never been to Denver, but I don't think he has any idea about what he is talking about.

Another thing they could do is instead of getting exclusive residences to the club, book a different act weekly or monthly that aren't really "mainstream." Just by looking at the lineup of Coachella and Holy Ship! I see a bunch of quality acts. You got Galantis, Deorro, Madeon, Tchami, Tale of Us, What So Not, Gorgon City, Chet Faker, and Clean Bandit. Book each of these acts once every couple weeks or so and if you also wanted some big name DJs, try to get some fresh names new to Vegas like Knife Party, Fedde Le Grand, Bob Sinclair, etc. This could be Marquee's niche and make them stand out from all the "we have so-and-so DJ exclusive to us" hungry clubs.
I can definitely get behind some of those names. Knife Party, Fedde Le Grand, Bob Sinclair are not new to Vegas but would make good additions. Deorro I believe has retired from DJing save for a Coachella appearance and Laidback Luke is with EBC as artedm mentioned...

That's pretty much the mainstays from the last couple year. Hopefully they announce some new additions soon!

Personally, I wish Marquee could replicate what LiFE did for their Sunday underground parties. Sasha, Solomun, Jamie Jones, Green Velvet, Claude Vonstroke...

But not sure how the Vegas crowd appreciated it.

Jaime jones and Claude Von stroke played after hours sets at Marquee last year. So did Ritchie Hawtin. Marquee will be fine.

Life gave up on underground music end of Dec.... they may toss out a guy 1x a month but has to be a bigger name.

Marquee's Feb linup has Vice playing 4 Fri or Sat dates alone so that gives you some idea of where they are going. I remember Jason Strauss once said at a conference i was at that 50% of the people that go to Marquee have NO idea who is spinning. Those ar their fav type of customers as you can book a less expensive dj and they still love the night.

That's a great point. I remember going to Vegas not knowing who the hell was spinning, but still had epic nights. Unfortunately, people don't dance anymore and rather take out their phones on the dance floor. Great thing about Output here in Brooklyn, their no phone policy on the main floor.

Wynn/(mgm-hak/light-caesars) only have the nightclub scene in vegas

Wynn does the tomorrow world tables, and they have done pop up events in the past.
