You also have to remember that most of the clubs put their lineups out 4-6 weeks in advance. You'll have a better idea late Feb/beginning of March on who's going to be there.
Happily sponsoring the Las Vegas economy since July 1996

Well with AVB and Chuckie now gone too by signing with Omnia, the DJ list for Marquee keeps shrinking. Their February schedule does show Benny, Porter and Cedric, but no ATB or Dash (outside of the EDC Under the Dome) either and they still have four completely open dates that month. And having DJ Vice headlining twice on a Saturday (Or Lema twice in January) is not a good sign to me either.

I am curious to see how Marquee will do this year. They still have the name and cache, while being inside one of the most popular hotels for the young crowd if not "the" most popular. But in a time where DJ line-ups seemingly can make or break you, this will be interesting to watch.

Dash is also playing on 2/13, but it's definitely going to be interesting to see who they can grab now. I might have to change my residency as well this year!

Hah they tricked me, on the calendar it has only the Marquee sign, didn't think of clicking on it lol. But you are right.

at this point, who's there even left for Marquee to sign? looking at the DJ Mag Top 100 (I know bad reference) most are already spoken for and what's left is hardly even worth it as a headliner ppl would want to see imo

                Hmmm maybe Laidback Luke?
EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

Is deadmau5 still with XS? Although he was the one that broke his Hakkasan contract by spinning at XS, so can't really trust him.

Maybe try to sign someone like Kygo or Thomas Jack? Their tropical house style could work well at the dayclub if they wanted to go with a chill vibe.

Another thing they could do is instead of getting exclusive residences to the club, book a different act weekly or monthly that aren't really "mainstream." Just by looking at the lineup of Coachella and Holy Ship! I see a bunch of quality acts. You got Galantis, Deorro, Madeon, Tchami, Tale of Us, What So Not, Gorgon City, Chet Faker, and Clean Bandit. Book each of these acts once every couple weeks or so and if you also wanted some big name DJs, try to get some fresh names new to Vegas like Knife Party, Fedde Le Grand, Bob Sinclair, etc. This could be Marquee's niche and make them stand out from all the "we have so-and-so DJ exclusive to us" hungry clubs.

Years ago I "knew" the Marketing Director at Marquee and she since has been bumped up to Tao Groups Marketing VP. When she was getting us settled at Marquee I asked her what her thought on the competition (this was after Hak was announced but way before opening). She basically said look at Tao, we are still going strong over there. And she had a point. I believe as pointed out above, they will settle into a niche and just maintain a steady flow as more of a trance/deep house/chill place most nights and leave the big DJ wars to the other venues.

I would definitely be cool with that route. I did notice they've been going more hip-hop with their live acts (Drake, Jeremih and Wyclef Jean). I would love to see some more deep house acts in there or at least late late night sets.

I would like to see the return on investment that the clubs get for the big name DJs. If Marquee paid Calvin $425,000 per show would the crowd be that much bigger and spend that much more money?

Honestly its not all about how much the club makes on a given night that a DJ is at the club, it's about building a brand/reputation. I would be willing to bet there are nights places have lost money or made a small profit due to the cost of the performer that night. Look at this board as an example, Marquee is losing their big name DJs and people are questioning now if it is still a T1 club. Having big names on your roster will increase business even on nights they are not performing.

Does being regarded as a "tier 1 club" impact profits materially?

I would guess that location inside Cosmo is what drives Marquee's attendance.

marquee probably going with Benny Benassi, Dash Berlin, Carnage, Cedric Gervais, Porter Robinson, Vice + hip hop acts

Saw Neil Moffitt (hakkasan boss) give an interview talking about Calvin saying calvin has sold 55 million singles and 2 billion streams on spotify. Plus his songs are on the radio all over.
For someone like Deadmau5 he has a more niche audience he tweeted about omnia-
