Celebrity Hosts...

What do they do?

I mean, when celebrities who don't perform, dj, or manage events are on a flyer as a host for a nightclub, what do they do? When I think of hosts, I picture the relationship builder who acts as both concierge and event planner. Or I think of the first person who greets me at the door of a decent restaurant. From advertisements and youtube videos, it looks like celebrity hosts get vip, red carpet treatment, hang out with the dj's and then party it up. Unless I pay specifically for an adjacent table, would I ever really meet a celebrity host?

If this is in the wrong section, my bad. I've just wondered this whenever I see flyers and advertisements showing me celebrities from tv shows I've never cared for or even heard about. I'm sure I've been to some celebrity hosted club nights on one of my trips....

For example like carmen electra or floyd mayweather
They will appear at a club and you can take a picture of them usually not with them- its not a meet and greet.

They don't do much.... they just show up and might give a quick word on the mic. I find there are less and less of those kinda events. Was much more popular 3 to 5 years ago. You have more chances to meet the celebrity the next day in the hotel than at the actual event. I took a few pictures with Tera Patrick at Tao beach the next day she was hosting a big birthday party at Tao nightclub.

I see. So super fans, groupies, celebrity chasers and such would love these kind of things. I guess if Tess Munster ever hosts a club night, I'd go. Otherwise, I'm probably sticking to the less "attractive" options, just in case my table is now a lot more expensive because someone who was once on the Hills needed to use my table for her puppy, lol.

Basically, it's a way for lower tier clubs to attract a few more people with the selling point "hey, you'll be in the same room as Celebrity X tonight!" You'd be surprised how many people eat that shit up.

Just helps pulls in fans/guests/etc.

Most of the time, you can't even interact with the celeb host.

I really don't think celebrities matter if anything that helps me know where NOT to go. Like when Nicki Minaj was at Liquid I was mad bc I really wanted to go but I didn't wannabe there with the kinda crowd she bring in. I'm black so not the race but more so the "Barbie B!tches"

Ill never forget my first trip back when Pure was the hot spot (8 years ago in March). We were just going to Pure because it was the club to go to and we had free entry cards. Then when we got there we were told they were no good because Christina Aguilera was going to be there and thus the line was crazy long inside Ceasers. When we got in, she wasn't there yet. I went to one of the back bars in the main room to get drinks and then she was escorted in with her friends. It was all secret like and no one really noticed them. I said Hi and she said Hi back. I pulled out my super crappy camera phone and got a picture of the back of her head. I showed my friends and they were all "Dude you are IN". She had at least 3 tables for her and her friends and she was the only one who was up dancing most of the night. We never got near them again due to all the extra security. She definitely brought in a crowd as the place was packed. Wish I knew then what I know now about Vegas, but live and learn.
