  • what are the tiers based on

hi, 2 irish 23 year olds coming to vegas next june. we are by no means wealthy and will visit the clubs through presale tickets. what im looking to know is what factors make a club be in a certain tier? and how many tiers there are? ive only seen tier 1 and 2 being mentioned here. we are there for 7 nights and would like to visit some clubs for a few nights and get drunk without our wallets taking a huge hit so could i get the names of some tier 3 and 4 clubs..if they even exist in vegas?

total noob in this so sorry if im asking stupid things.

Gallery, Chateau, LAX, Moon are all clubs that you may be able to get in for free or really cheap (like 20 bucks)

You should be able to get into many of the top clubs for free and/or cheap. Something like VIP4FREE can get you in for free of reduced cover. Pregame hard, buy only a couple drinks in the club, and it doesn't have to end up an expensive night!

As far as what decides the tiers.....it's all opinion, however in general it's the most popular, best crowd and nicest venue. So older places tend to not have the nicest venue, not have the biggest DJ, and therefore don't draw the best crowd. It's not that long ago that current Tier 2 places like Tryst and Tao were on top. Doesnt mean they are not still great places that you won't have a blast at. It's all about what you make of it and how much fun you want to have!

In my opinion, tier 3 and 4 clubs are usually lounges and party bars. The dress codes are a lot more relaxed, and while there might be bottle service available, you can probably sit down somewhere if it's not a major holiday weekend. On any random weekend they can be like something out of a music video, or just have a real dead vibe. The bathrooms are often on the casino floor or something like that so they can be kind of inconvenient sometimes.

I love these places. I'm not big on the major clubs although I have had a blast at them. I've done bottle service at the May Invasion and have been really impressed by just how crazy clubs get, especially being from the midwest. But even if I could afford it, I can't see myself paying hundreds or thousands of dollars more just to have a private area to see a big name DJ. Growing up, at all the parties and clubs, we all partied together. I only paid to sit at sporting events, lol.

That being said, you should try Carnaval Court at Harrah's or Rhumbar at the Mirage. Carnaval Court is an outdoor bar with flair bartending, bands and dj's throughout the day and night. Drinks are average but everyone is there to party so there won't be too much pretension. Rhumbar is def more of a lounge, but with fancy drinks, cigars, dj's on the weekends and it won't break your bank. Voodoo Lounge at the Rio has great views of the skyline, and inexpensive bottle service. It's not right on the strip so it can be a commitment and it can be hit or miss for all the alluring aspects of a nightclub.

Since it's just two of you, def get presale tix or hit up a host for guestlist entry to the Tier 1 and 2 clubs on any night you feel like raging. Like everyone else said, pregame hard. The drinks are spendy. Everything else is pretty cool though. If the big name clubs are getting too much or a hassle, try the smaller places, especially if you are tired or hungover.

Sorry this is so wordy. I type a lot when I drink.
            I just don't give a shit.

I think if you want a fun cheap evening, i've always had fun in the piano bars too. It's a fun vibe. If it's about drinking and having a good time you can pretty much find it anywhere...

Just go with presale, hit up a couple tier 1's ie hak, xs, light, maruqee and then hit up a couple tier 2's tao, tryst. You should be able to get good prices with presale or even guestlist for free.
                2011: Palazzo | Tao | Moon

                2014: Venetian | Tao | Hak | EBC | XS

                2015: Cromwell | Drai's | Palazzo | Tryst | XS | Omnia | Nightswim

wow, thanks for all the replies! we will definetly be visiting tier 1 clubs through presale tickets and buying regular beer(typical irish) and will leave the vodka etc to the predrinking at the hotel or at the bars/lounges/casino where you get free* alcohol before going to a club.

someone mentioned that outside bar with flaretending, i actually saw that on tripadvisor and its definetly on my list for either preclubbing.

                  cant wait for vegas 2015!!!

I find that the best way to predrink is right before you walk into the club on the casino table...just play a slower game like roulette and bet the minimum, and once you have a couple drinks...cash out and walk in.

my buzz gets killed quickly when i try to pregame in the room!
                    Next trip: ???
