i believe Vice is spinning tonight at Life so it should be in full swing.

I assume that's after midnight (the official/public property opening), by which time I plan to be long gone - hoping we'll get a sneak peek before then.

I wasn't at Life for very long but my first impression of the layout is pretty good. It is laid out very wide (even wider than Hakkasan main room) with a gigantic dance floor, but with basically four full tiers of tables, each at a different height, which makes it feel a bit more like Marquee. But again like Hakkasan, there is a top level of bars and GA walking areas in the back, so those 3rd/4th levels of tables will likely have that annoying feeling of having people crowding over top. Because of the wide layout and relatively shorter distance front to back, it maintains a relatively cozy feel, which I really like. There are also some very long table sections behind the DJ booth that I think could be pretty fun and a bit more removed from the crowd.

Bottle pricing was a bit odd - I only got a quick glance at the menu, but off the top of my head some stuff was way more expensive than other clubs (many 1.75L vodkas 1100-1200+, Dom Rose ~$1600), some stuff way less expensive (Cristal ~$1200, Ace Rose ~$2200).

Vice was supposed to start at 11:30 but wound up not getting on until pretty much midnight and I bolted soon after. A friend of a friend who arrived after I left said they were not letting people in GA and instead were trying to pitch tables to get people in, which is pretty lame because the place was not crowded and many tables were unsold.

Oh yeah, they had the volume turned way up. If you're anywhere near the main dance floor, bring your musician's earplugs.

I totally underestimated this place. It seems legit, for now at least. Going to take the monorail from mgm on ldw to check this place out. Exciting to see new venues in vegas...
