Hi everyone. Been looking through the forum for a while now picking up bits of advice. We are a group of 5 guys in mid twenties from UK and we are doing a west coast trip. We are in Vegas over the LBW from the Thursday to the Monday. All essentially first timers (since turning 21). I just have a couple noob questions. We have/will be put on guest list for Skrillex at XS Friday night. And although we are on it I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced or heard of not being let in on guest list due to being all guys. And when it's best to get there?

OK so scratch that guest list straight away. You wont get in and it wont be honoured.
Skrillex is a huge pulled in the US. XS is the best club in Vegas. Its Friday and youre a group of lads.
Just pay for pre-sale tickets from want tickets.com or get tables. You quite simply wont get in on guest list or youll wait about 2 hours. Pre-sale will guarentee you entry and the queue is tiny compared to guestlist/General Admission.
Who said you could do this dyou mind me asking? There's no way an XS host would do this for you so I imagine the guy doing that is bullshitting you.
Youll need to be there 10:30 - 11pm latest without a table. -
It wasn't a host but Skrillex's tour manager who said he would get us put on the guest list. He has said it isn't a problem but I have heard that the bouncers don't always honour the guest list especially for a group of guys.
We have got pre-sales for the other events attending as unfortunately I am the only one willing to do bs, although I can see my mates view with a holiday weekend price.Comment

I'd ask a host about how the artist GL usually work on a big holiday night, I'm really not sure. Are you tight with the tour manager or is it a friend of a friend of a friend thing? I'd be a little nervous about them forgetting to put you down or whatever. Even if you are on their guestlist I'd still show up early.Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

He is a family friend, and will more than likely be meeting up in LA the week before. We will aim to be there pretty early like you would with pre-sale. If there was any issues we could always phone him, but if that doesn't work we will just hit a few bars, not an issue due to every other night sorted. The other question I missed was will places still have happy hours for either food or drink that weekend?

Honestly - the guest list thing sounds great, but it just sucks - on every level. You end up queueing for ages in the guest list line, then when you finally get the attention of a host - who will be ignoring you because its LDW and its totally rammed and you're a group of 4 guys with no women - you have to then try to explain that "so and so put me on the guest list". You then wait, and if your names not there, well - thats your night ruined.
I dont know why people even bother. Its almost as if people think its cool to be on a guest list.
It can only serve to ruin your night. Why bother when its like $50 on pre-sale that gets you in about 20 times quicker and doesnt involve the total lottery that is the guest list. $50 is peanuts.
It ONLY really works for girls. Groups of guys may aswell forget about it.Comment
