It's an interesting thing to think about. But there are a lot of factors that will go into it ie. talent & pricing.
As said before I think Drai's will be the first to go. After the novelty wears off there won't be much more to it. unless they start scalping talent from the other T1's. Hakk I don't think will be effected because of their talent (even with the loss of some from last year). Having a couple big names will automatically add to the allure and will justify (to some people) the price to party there. If Tiesto and Calvin Harris left after their contracts.. then it becomes a whole different story. XS I don't see being effected because as I've learned from this forum, there are lots of people who are loyal to XS and the venue seems to never disappoint. The new Pure I think won't be built as a T1, but more so a high end T2 where Hakkasan/MGM can still profit off the people who don't want to go to Hakk as well as get some footing in a non MGM casino. I guess time will tell.. but also what the next fad/trend will be.

I don't think any of the top fall. I don't put the new Drai's as a Tier 1 yet. All of the current top clubs have their niche at the moment, and I don't see the draw changing any time soon. We'll see what SLS is cooking up with Life, but they tend to prefer smaller clubs as a general business practice.Vegas trips

Will be interesting to see if SLS suffers a similar fate?Originally posted by NoahRamDrais has been my expected fail since week one. so best of luck to them and hope they do well but the hype died off fast and the staff as a whole just seems unfriendly and as if theyre all just waiting for their shift to be over and go home. love em but thats the consensus most people have relayed and ive noticed it myself going in nonchalant and just hanging out there a few times.
There is no big drawcard to Drais at the moment and hype seems to be the driving force. If the customer service is bad... then the overall experience will be tarnished...there is no "wow" factor... hmmmm... smells like trouble

Drais really that lackluster?
Some I have talked to have termed it "badass" and a must see.
I have been planning to bring a group there and drop 4k+ this weekend. Is it going to be worth it?
LIGHT was my first choice but personally Id rather hear Borgeous over Steve Powers. I know LIGHT is solid though and I am starting to feel like I might be taking a risk with Drais. I will have an almost mixed ratio group. 10-15 deep."The man on the top of the mountain didn't fall there"

Drai's went in with the "no getting into the DJ bidding war" mentality. Realistically, a lot of their talent doesn't have the name that most people make the trip out to Vegas to see though. I'd honestly like to see if they change their stand on that and try and scoop up a big name in the new year just to try and get a bigger draw. If not.. and if there are customer service issues then they are bound to fail, and fast.
-Kinar, you can NEVER go wrong with LIGHT. That would be my choice.

Ive been several times now. Crowd and service was good. Only thing Ive noticed is, although it had a good crowd inside, there wasnt much of a crowd outside.Blackout Artist

I personally would rather see Eric Prydz then any of the big names at Hakk, except maybe going bananas with Dada Life. But for those who aren't into his music, it's hard to compete with the huge billboards all over town of Tiesto, Calvin Harris, Skrillex, Deadmau5, you get the point! The venue would be my deciding factor on my next trip, whenever that may be *sigh*

I really want to check out Drai's too. Maybe it's the hype but the venue looks incredible and I really like the location. I think the biggest draw for clubs is the crowd. If you know this club is consistently getting a good crowd or you know that this DJ is there that night and it's going to be a good draw, that's where you want to go. So even if you aren't into the music, you'll still end up going. I'm not saying hot girls go to where the big DJ is playing that night but I think there's an assumption that if a big name is somewhere that night, most people will want to go there.
It would be interesting to see what happens when the EDM scene slows down. It'll always be around but I don't know how long it will stay mainstream. OR maybe Vegas will be the EDM destination for the US like Ibiza has been for decades. Vegas IS the party city for the US and dance music could/should always have a place there.

I went to Drai's on Tuesday night. Granted, it was the pool party and the inside was closed, but I could at least check out the space. I thought it was a beautiful club and had a great time. Was partying with locals (both industry and non) and the vibe I got is that everyone loves the club, but they admitted it's a tough sell to Joe Schmo Tourist who wants to see Calvin Harris. Even though the Drai's lineup actually is top notch, and perhaps the best, technically, of the clubs. I'd rather see Eric Prydz over anyone at Hak, for example. I wouldn't even think twice.
It's either ahead of its time, or just doomed. Can't tell yet.

Good point and I'll add a few other factors you're going to need to survive.Originally posted by NoahRamDrais has been my expected fail since week one. so best of luck to them and hope they do well but the hype died off fast and the staff as a whole just seems unfriendly and as if theyre all just waiting for their shift to be over and go home. love em but thats the consensus most people have relayed and ive noticed it myself going in nonchalant and just hanging out there a few times.
1. Hotel support with big players/lots of rooms/high occupancy, If you have a good, large, hot hotel, that attracts gamblers that want to party, the DJs and all that other stuff is great, but the property can support you. Not sure the Cromwell is big enough and attracts enough big $$ ...
2. Industry Support.... there's a few clubs that the locals/industry just don't like to support because of the way not only our guests, but also how we are treated (especially on Industry days). Noah was spot on and I think Hakk has that same issue. I got a good friends at both and If you're not dealing with a small handful of cool hosts, you're asking for problems... I think XS/ Light/ Marq/ etc.. across the board have more consistent service and treatment of guests. This is a bigger factor than you think. I know a lot of people that are 1 and done, with a few of these new mega club.Isaac Kaz Curry
