  • 1OAK Table Location Suggestions?

A couple of buddies and I are doing a B1G1 table reservation we arranged with Joey on May 30th.

Since it is a B1G1, I'm sure the table options will be rather limited. For anyone who has booked this at 1OAK, any suggestions on halfway decent tables we should try and nab once we get there? Looking for a location with good foot traffic.

    Any info would be appreciated.

1Oak is relatively small so, foot traffic really isn't that much of an issue. Just make sure it's in the main room, and try to avoid the tables near the top bar if you want to feel you're more 'in the action' (bar is to the left right near the entrance, although they are near a bar so....foot traffic).

Totally up to you...Somewhere around 15% of your minimum is in the range, assuming you're not getting any additional deals such as comped bottles. Since you have to pay tax/gratuity on your minimum it's better to tip your host a little more if they can lower your minimum or get you a comp bottle.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

You gotta remember it depends on other bookings too, I'd prolly do $200-$250 ($100 for the comp bottle and $100-$150 for table location) for your booking.

Joey got us set up with a dance floor table last summer and it was boss!

Agreed with this range if you are looking to secure a good table location and for the B1G1. If you tip $200 - $250 Joey will make sure to get you the best table he possibly can. There are no promises because it all depends on demand that night, but anything can happen (including dance floor table on a B1G1 with a $200 tip)!

Biggest key is getting there by or before your host asks you to. More open tables means better odds you'll get a good spot with a lower min especially with a solid handshake.

great point. Forgot to add that. Last year when I went to 1OAK on a Saturday night, had a B1G1, showed up exactly at 10:30 when Joey said, and had prearranged $200 tip. Something must have opened up because he was able to get me a dance floor table. I would not be expecting that...but early arrival and decent tip will get you the best you can possibly get on that specific night.

Has anyone had any luck securing a B1G1 on a holiday weekend? Looking to do this over 4th of July weekend.

Got a big group of guys for a bachelor party in August! We're doing the B3G1 from Joey with a $300 handshake for a DF table. Looking forward to being right on the DF!
