  • Wednesday Night at Light?

    Hi,

Heading out to vegas on 13th May and are planning on hitting Light on Wednesday night with BS. There will be 4 guys. Could you give me an idea of what kind of minimum we should expect on a table for 4, what kind of host tip we should be looking to give for a decent table ideally as close to the action as possible?

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry one more thing.... any suggestions for a good table spot?

    Thanks!

I couldn't speak to the minimums on the Wednesday, but IMO, the best spots are the Tier 2 tables on the main level. There's so much going on at Light, you almost need to be a step back from the floor to appreciate it.

        Light

2nd Teir is the best I agree with the other post. You can check our host listings on the main page there are two approved hosts for light.

I agree tier 2 is the way to go, but also try to get a center location so you are directly facing the stage. I recommend going through Noah to get a quote.

Tier 2 on a wed will most likely run from $1500 ($2400 all in) to $2-2.5k min ($3-4k all in) for 4-8 guys.

If you tip well, show up early and it isn't an event week or for some reason big name playing you might be able to snag the $1500 min. I don't know if you can get a 1k min down there.

Anyone ever had 1k min for backrow downstairs?

For the tip I would push $250+. Maybe $300-400 depending on if it's cheaper than upping your minimum and you have that wiggle room to tip. $400 is cheaper than an $800 bottle.

I second using Noah as well. Throw him all the info you have:
            • Group size (i dont think guy/girl ratio matters except aesthetically but give it anyways)
            • All in budget (take minimum and multiply by 1.38 then add $40-60 for tips and $250-$400 for handshake)
            • Handshake (What you plan on handing him in hopes of a better table or keeping your minimum up till check-in)
            • Table location (downstairs/upstairs/df - left right center)

He's very straightforward and unless some cataclysmic management fiasco happens out of his control I am 100% positive you will be well treated. Just keep people informed and stick to the rules!

Thanks for all your input, and thanks Kinar100 - great advice. As it is a wednesday & there are only 4 of us on this night, we are hoping to get to around $1200 all in, plus a $200 - $250 handshake to hopefully secure a tier 2 table. Seems like this may be a long shot but I will get in contact with Noah and see what he can do.

Would you say Light is the best club on a wednesday or am I missing a trick and should be looking somewhere else too?

              Thanks again!

In my opinion it all depends on your end goal for the night.

If you have never seen LIGHT then I say 100% go ahead. Crazy place in there.
If you like EDM then go ahead (although a more trap heavy artist is playing that night)
If you like hip hopish beats then go ahead (Baauer is playing and will drop a lot of that stuff)
If you're looking for girls then it's a good spot but you will probably need a table. It's hard to sift through the pack of sausage unless you've got a place to bring ladies to sit. Baauer should bring out some decent talent too.

LIGHT is an EDM/Lightshow heavy club and fist bumping/bouncing around are a main activity on the dance floor. Hard for girls in heels to keep up with that. They tend to stick to tables and standing on seats.

As for the $1500 all in you might have a decent chance. Probably have to show up at 10:00 PM and tip $300. If you get a $1k minimum it will end up being $1380 at the LEAST if you happen to somehow spend exactly $1,000 on alcohol. I dont know if they will drop you to a $750 min or something (it has happened) but i wouldn't fully expect to get a table the entire night for 1 bottle. 1k min might hold it down but down on the main for that might not work.

I went on a saturday mid march for ingrosso (big edm name) and we had 4 guys @ 1k min, center upstairs for $300 tip. $1708 in all for the night.

I dont know if upstairs is open on Wed. I was there 2 weekends ago on a friday for Baauer and it wasn't open. He drops awesome jams though.

That (the bolded language) is fantastic advice. That advice applies to every host at every club.

it was throughout the winter month...might check with Noah to make sure it's going into the summer as well though.
