  • Help Help Help...Thanks!!

    Hi

We are after some advice, party of 5 guys travelling to vegas 9-13th May 2014 for a stag/batchelor party and all newbies!! We want to get things planned but dont really know where to start, after looking around we're thinking Hakassan Fri night & Wet Republic Saturday, after that..not too sure? We have just under $1000 a day to spend...is this enough as we want vip/table service wherever possible but seem to be struggling to get that booked also, Ive tried the host contact from this site but no reply. Any help/tips/tricks are massively appreciated!!!

I presume youre from the UK with the time etc.

So, yes $1000 a day each per day is a solid budget that should get what you want.

Firstly, this is where to go on each night.

Monday: XS (Wynn/Encore) or Marquee (Cosmo)
Tuesday: 1Oak (Mirage) or Hyde (Bellagio)
Wednesday: Surrender (Wynn/Encore) or Light (Mandalay Bay)
Thursday: Tryst (Wynn/Encore), Tao (Venetian), Hakkasan (MGM), Encore Beach at Night (Wynn/Encore)
Friday: Anywhere, i'd go Light or XS
Saturday: Anywhere, but id go XS or Hyde
Sunday: XS Nightswim, Eclipse at Daylight, The Bank (Bellagio) or Hakkasan (MGM)

So pools - Firstly, all we get promoted and hear about in England is Wet Republic. Its not the best. Marquee Dayclub and Encore Beach club are much better pool parties than Wet Republic. So the first bit of advice is by all means go to Wet and check it out, but know in your back pocket that there are better places to be.

You should be going Encore Beach Club, Marquee Day Club, Liquid at Aria, Tao Beach as well as considering Wet. Daylight also.

Forget Rehab and Ditch Friday at the Palms.

So onto spends. I go with a $1000/day budget each year and leave $250 aside for pool parties and food and $750 per night for tables at nightclubs. If you do that, that gives you boys $3750 per night to spend, say $3500 so you got taxis' etc sorted.

It works on minimum spend as im sure you know. Other rules are
    28% tax and gratuity
Host tip (usually $200/$300 except XS on Saturday when its $500)
10% Local Entertainment Tax (Not everywhere, depends on DJ)
    security tip (about $100)
    busser tip (about $50)

So that being the case you need to be basically getting $2000 minimum spends each night. Thats the important bit. A $2k min works out at about $3200 give or take.

    I would do this.

Friday Night: Light - Tier 2 table, $2k min - Contact Noah Ortiz. 001.323.919.6529. He's also on these forums as 'NoahRam'
    Saturday Day: Marquee Day Club
Saturday Night: XS - You should be able to swing a tier 3 for $2k min. Contact Bobby Yeadon. 001.708.714.0280
    Sunday Day: Encore Beach Club
Sunday Night: I would go XS Nightswim. But you wanna try Hak so Hakkasan, $2k min, shiould get you a mezzanine table. Contact Thomas Gorman. 001.702.326.6774
    Monday day: Chill
Monday Night: Marquee. Should be a bit cheaper than $2k so negotiate. Cliff Orr. 001.586.489.4531

You can book cabana's for the pool parties, but I just go pre-sale, it'll save you money for the big nights. Get those pre-sale tickets from wanttickets and you have to be there 11:30-12 latest.

Thanks tomm0, that's just the sort of thing I was after. After reading a few threads on here it does seem wet isn't as good as some of the other pool parties like you say. I'll start looking into some of the bits you've mentioned and get things moving, not long left now! I'll get in touch with the people you mentioned see what they can do. Can we arrange things from here and pay when we get there or do they ask for payments up front?

Its worth going Wet - its still good - but its just not as good as some of the others. Youll see what I mean.

Never pay anything up front. The only people who ask that are independant hosts 95% of the time. So no - you only pay when youre bill is settled at your table/daybed or whatever right at the end.

You can close the bill straight away if youre worried about over spending when pissed, but thats up to you. You give your host the handshake when you arrive.

Ok great, Thats cleared a few things up. I think we've agreed on encore dayclub sunday then xs nightswim, is the best host contact for those- Eric Chine 702-467-1052 listed on here? Might try Hyde or Hakkasan instead on the sat night. Also, I may as well ask you, whats the dress code like, we're all pretty well dressed lads but can we be over dressed as we're thinking of going suited and booted 1 or 2 nights but dont wanna be too casual either on other nights.
How do you know so much??
Thanks again for your help, we owe you!

fully suited is probably a little much, but nothing wrong with wearing a tie one night, or a jacket another night

                will just add two things:
                1. check the nightclub/ pool party lineups who the dj is and COMPARE events- can also search them all by going to www.wantickets.com and entering in las vegas and your dates.
For example Calvin Harris is at Hakkasan on 5/9

                2. In booking tables its important to talk about bottle prices and table locations. You can find club table maps online- Also realize on Friday and Saturday your likely to be paying top dollar for bottles and have high minimum spends. Sunday and Monday you can usually find bottle specials/ low minimums.

Will just add since your new- realize you can go low end- presale tickets or high end-tables in vegas. These are all really amazing clubs that hold multiple thousands of people- so try to plan your budget/expectations as best you can.

if you're fashionably suited up (fitted to slim fit) go for it. if not, go for something more comfortable.

Nothing wrong with dressing to impress guys. Seriously... why be like evryone else in a shirt and jeans. Its Vegas... stand out from the crowd a bit. a nice tailored suit with no tie looks great... especially if its more of a modern suit (stay away from black). Grey/Charcoal or Blue/Navy will look good... Given you're doing bottle service it looks even better!

The same old button down untucked shirt with jeans is the standard... create that point of difference

might be a little warm for a suit. I always wear a French cuff dress shirt (tucked in) with jeans, a vest, and tie (usually Burberry). I love that look.

Nothing wrong with a suit provided its the right type. Always amazed at the guys who show up to the club in the boxy Brooks Brothers cut, which makes them look like businessmen who stumbled in from a conference... I've done tailored or tapered suits when the weather permitted with no tie look and didn't feel out of place or uncomfortable in the least. Also like, someone suggested a nicely tapered or fitted jacket can also make you stand out in the land of jeans and collared shirts.
