  • Final plans for this weekend...give me your input

Guys, like I mentioned in an earlier post we're headed out for my brother's bachelor party this weekend (April 25-28th). After hours of reading and lots of helpful advice from posters here's our gameplan. Please let me know if you think anything should be changed before I finalize it all!

    Fri night - Tryst. Dance floor table. $1500 min + $500 handshake. Goose/Goose $450.

Sat night - Light. Middle tier main room table. $3500 min + $500 handshake.

Sun day - EBC presale tix
Sun night - XS. Tier 3 table. Handshake possibly $300-500 depending on table. Goose/Goose $595.

Thanks for all the help getting to this point. Any last minute input would be great as well!

I'm assuming that table at Light is a Tier 1 (1 up from the dancefloor), great location. You're set up just fine.

First- congrads on the wedding and most importantly realize your going to VEGAS with seven of your friends you will have a good time whatever you do! Don't think you have to drop $5k on one table just to have a good time.

That said your itinerary and quotes scream newbie to me
      1. $500 host tips? Are you just a real generous person- because I don't see what your tipping that high for. You hear about $500 tips at xs for MDW/LDW weekend! We are talking about a regular non event weekend in April.

      2. Your quote at light $3500 min- all in with tax/tip will be over $5,000 for like 6 bottles. For Dirty South?

Somethings for you to be aware of:
      4/25
Calvin Harris at Hakkasan- 1st year anniversary party- will be shitshow- attract a huge ga crowd
Deadmau5 at XS- deadmau5 is polarizing dj but he opened Hak, hasn't been at xs in over a year, will not be at xs again for several months- will also be a shitshow- attract a huge ga crowd
As an example- mau5 has over 614,000 lookers on wantickets.com, tryst friday has around 725.
      mau5 has 8,900,000 facebook likes
calvin harris has 6,900,000 facebook likes
tryst dj has a personal facebook page www.facebook.com/DeejayOB119

Considering your situation- what I would recommend
      Friday night-
Depending when you get in have a nice dinner, then get that vipforfree guy to get you comped entry to light and also have some $30 mau5 xs presale tickets in your back pocket- you will get to light say around 11pm- grab a drink, check the place out real good- see if you like it, then head over to xs by say 130am- see what you think, then call it a night.
      Saturday-
Tao beach is across the street from the wynn and has eric dlux on that day- good open format dj
check that out then get an early $100 bottle special at rhino before 8pm
If you followed this itinerary you might already have a fallen solider or two and not be looking to drop $5k on Saturday night. But you would at least have seen some clubs and decided what you like. Depending on your group you could go with- Jermaine Dupri at Tryst- Tryst's biggest name hip hop, go with Tao DJ Vice- open format, decided you really liked Light so still end up going there or something else.
      Sunday
Since your staying at wynn- checkout Zedd EBC pool party- presales
Sunday night if you did it right your crew will probably be really hurting- get free entry to Hakkasan for who is left standing or a bottle special at xs with no huge tip.

I don't mean to scatter your plan- just throw some thoughts out there- You will have fun whatever you do- just don't think you need to drop $5k or $10k to have fun.

Your choice of clubs sound great. Tryst and XS are great, I haven't been able to make it out to Light yet but it gets tons of love on here.

I agree with artedm that some of your tips are pretty high, especially the Tryst one. With a $1500 min and it being Tryst, I would probably not be tipping that much, more like $200 - $300 range. But that's just me. Tipping is up to individual and what you feel the service/value is worth.

I do disagree with artedm suggestion about doing GA to both Light and XS the same night. Personally I'm not a fan of club hopping. It's too cumbersome and takes up too much of the night, especially when you are going from complete opposite ends of the strip like that. But again, just my opinion - I prefer staying at one club for the night.

Artedm is totally right though in that no matter what - you will have a great time!!

The Tryst tip is a bit high, but that seems to be a location tip. It seems to me that you've planned one last blowout, and have budgeted accordingly

The only thing I might change is tryst Friday night for a cabana at Liquid or Tao Beach. Facebook likes aren't indications of DJ talent, and ga for a bachelor party just makes no damn sense to me.

From your posts it sounds like you have never been to light before and really want to try the place out-
all I'm saying is if you can get free entry on Friday early go check it out, see it get a feel for it

facebook likes can be fake and some people will say popular people have no talent
put another way calvin harris played main stage coachella this year and deadmau5 played main stage Ultra music festival this year- both of them have "large" fan bases that attract big crowds

regarding your blowout- your getting around 6 bottles for around $2k at Tryst and your getting around 6 bottles for $5k at light
so is it really worth 3k more?

You've picked some good spots, the only problem I see is not doing a pool on Saturday. I think a Saturday Pool party this time of year, at any of them, is better than any of the Sunday Pool Parties, this time of year. Tip what you like and if you want to drop money for good tables at these venues, do it. If you can afford it, do it. Going GA vs tables isn't even the same experience so you can't really compare. If you're tipping for a location upgrade or something like that, the $ is fine, just make sure you get what you expect for the tip. On Saturday, all the big clubs are packed, will pretty much sell out fast, and attract good crowds. keep your clubs, try to squeeze in a Saturday pool and get some real estate if it's in the budget, or get a bed or something for EBC Sunday.

Thanks everyone for all the input.

I assumed the $500 Tryst tip was because of the DF table. I've mentioned possibly dropping the minimum a little. We will see what happens.

As for Light on Saturday I agree. 3.5k did seem excessive to me. What is a reasonable minimum for a DJ like dirty south? 2.5k? None of us have ever been to Light and from the reviews we wanted to make sure we went one night. GA with 8 guys just seems like it would be a pain. Didn't wanna do XS since we're doing it Sunday and Tiesto is at Hakk so I figured Light would actually be more reasonable on cost.

Kaz I agree about the pool on Saturday however we've got a few gamblers and they are bent on having several hours to play. We may just go with 3-4 guys and lay low before that night.

my point is not that 3.5k or around 5k all in is not a bad quote or dirty south is a bad dj or that you should go GA-
my point is you guys have never been there before- so before you go dropping 5k- check it out first- if you can get free entry friday then hit xs so you check it out- look at the table setup etc.

                        Friday-
Chippendale's is at Rio? Show is probably a little over an hour say 1230am
Headline dj usually start around 1am but you will be to late for girls guestlist
would probably say presales to xs
Calvin Harris at hak will probably be all jammed up that late

                        Saturday
I would make sure your gl details are all worked out-time/free entry/etc b/c its a $45 presale

                        Sunday
am: headline djs at pool parties usually start around 3pm but the earlier you get there the better location you will get
pm: as an all girl group you should get free entry to hak or xs before 12am

I kind of agree with art. What if you got in thru vipfree and if you like what you see you then snag a table. Maybe you can negotiate better once you are there. Keep Kaz's # handy and see what he can do. If not, bounce and take a cab to XS (keep Bobby Ys # handy also). How much would it cost you to go to Hak that night? Calvin Harris usually there on a Friday and I understand he pulls in major talent. But if Guetta is at XS you are guaranteed a good crowd there as well.

Is music type important to you guys?

Tryst shake does seem high but I think you are buying down your minimum it sounds like if it's a DF table. Last Thursday I had a $1500 min for a table not as prime as DF with 15 people and it was more spend than we needed especially since it as 2 Goose for $450. Ended up giving away some liquor at end of night.

I am skeptical that you have a dance floor table for a $1,500 minimum even with the $500 handshake. The dance floor tables are usually double that cost. Are you sure you don't have a table by the stripper pole?
