Club Promoters, How do they get paid?

I was in the Vegas the other night and I got the number for a Vegas Promoter for a Hakkasan. It was just myself because my friends did not want to listen to EDM. The promoter hooked me up with a free ticket. I was very surprised. My question is, how does this guy get paid? Do they work in teams or groups? I tried to give him a tip, and he refused. Should I have tipped him? Sounds like an easy job yet I probably tough to make a living out of it since I see zoo many promoters on Instagram, FB, twitter etc.

Good question man. I wonder the same thing. Last June I was in Vegas and actually used a promoter on Instagram from Marquee on a Monday that got comped entry for my group of 4(even ratio). Also a promotor I found on Instagram got us comped entry into Hakkasan on a Wednesday for Dada Life. I wasn't on this forum much back then, so thats how i found out about those other guys. But your right, theres a bunch out there.

Forgot to mention, I never met them in person. I just had close knit text communication. I got in each guest list at each place and that was it. Never had a chance to tip them.
