Memorial Day 2014

Hello everybody!

I am currently planning a trip to Vegas at the end of May and it looks as if our group leans towards the Memorial Day weekend.

Quick question: Would you recommend going there over the Memorial Day holiday weekend or would you avoid Las Vegas during this time? Will it be the best party of our lives or so crowded that we will be constantly queuing for stuff?

Spring Break one of the busiest weekends!?!?

Yes to MDW, LDW & NYE. But Spring Break!? I mean March madness can get a little busy I guess?

Hey tomm0. I really appreciate all of your constrictive and detailed criticism the OP can also check out Yelp for hundreds of other reviews of these venues which back up my claims. My advice is what it is, take it or leave it.

I think the general idea is leave it. tomm0 has at least proven himself as knowledgeable. You're still wet behind the ears.

Spring break isn't overly busy in Vegas. At least not compared to MDW, LDW, etc. The sports books get pretty crazy, but its really no different than most other times.

I disagree with you, respectfully This has been the busiest Spring Break that I have experienced over the past 3 years. I don't know if it is the economy or just hype from all of the club activity, but it certainly brought a crowd. I feel it would be ill advised to suggest otherwise. Planning your trip carefully, and scheduling your daily activities to coincide with your nightlife plans is always good advise. I still have groups, even seasoned groups, who break this rule and then have a troubling time gaining entry to the clubs.

Busiest spring break does not mean its as busy as MDW/LDW. I was there over spring break, it wasn't crazy crowded or anything like that. We were able to show up at XS at midnight due to a late flight and still get our table.

Obviously you have to plan things out so you get to the spots you're supposed to be, at the time you're supposed to be there. That's standard advice that applies whether you're there on a Wednesday in January or the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend.

Drais' grand opening weekend is Memorial Day weekend! Be on the lookout for that. The lineup came out yesterday.

Beach club:
Fri 23rd - 10k bikini contest - 12th Planet
Sat 24th - Arty

If you are purchasing bottle service, especially in the $1k and up range, then getting to the club at midnight may not be that big of a deal. For those who go through guest list however would have a very difficult time getting an, and would most certainly have to pay a cover charge, unless of course you are buddy buddy with a reliable host. The former is the case for many.

Except it wasn't 1k, it was a goose+moet for $395 deal.

My point was that your advice is generic and unoriginal, so why contribute repetitive information? Didn't you give shit to another poster for "not adding anything" to the discussion?

Different situations call for different scenarios. You can't just regurgitate the same advice for every post.

Hi guys,

thanks for your input so far! (Even though I feel like this thread got kind of hijacked ... )

What I took away is that it will obviously be super busy and more expensive, but we will be fine if we plan ahead and spend some more cash.

If you have any more advice of where to go and what to avoid, I am open to you suggestions! (Current program looks like Tao, Rehab, Marquee ...)

Because spring break encompasses that whole week, and if it was CRAZY busy Monday should have been bigger than normal Mondays. Not to mention it was St. Paddy's Day. I was just saying that it didn't seem to be any busier that week/weekend than it is in May/June non-holiday weekends.
