Had good times there, but recently it wasn't the same at all. No one was following the dress code, no DJs of any note, and generally less production value than they had in past years. Hopefully they do something with the space and not just let it sit around forever like partially-closed Rain.

Good point. Stayed last year and was stunned at the decline, literally dudes walking around in shorts and sneakers. Definitely seems a waste of space to have two relatively large venues vacant like that, but rain has been closed for quite a while and nothing done with it. Time will tell I guess

Palms is in trouble. That place needs to pick itself up and move it to the strip. Of if that isn't possible, make some kind of super high speed underground tube that gets you there in like 3.5 seconds. Yeah, either of those.

Nah, if Palms gets the Rain and Moon spaces back to good, solid venues with different vibes and lets you bounce between the two, people will head back out there. I mean, it's not really any further than Mandalay Bay if you're north of Flamingo Blvd., and Light does extremely well. The problem is the lack of incentive to make the trip there.

The article says "According to the statement released, the shuttering is making way for a new nightlife concept." That's promising, but needs to be well executed.

Was at Palms at the end of last summer. The room were nice. The pool area had a nice layout.
The crowd was "interesting". There was some sort of twerk off contest going on at the pool on Saturday.

I liked how they had multiple nightclubs in one hotel..one occasion a couple years ago, we flew in a day early and got a room at the Palms last minute. We ended up booking a bottle at Moon and our host informed us that we were free to head over to Rain/GhostBar/Playboy as we please. So we went from spot to spot and it Ended up being a good night!

Yeah the Palms has fallen off quite a bit over the last couple years, it has it's peak when it was getting alot of feature on MTV and I think the venue still has potential (especially Rain) but something major will have to go down
