  • doing Vegas solo - any tips?

    hey

i'm going to vegas (april 17-19) for a wedding and will be flying solo thursday and friday (wedding is saturday night). i'm hoping others that have done vegas solo will chime in with some feedback.

anyway, i'm staying in encore and looking for some ideas what to do. in terms of nightlife, i plan on going out to either haze or tryst thursday night and then xs on friday. would this be a good plan?

any ideas and input would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Did you get pre sale for XS on the 18th? You have Avicii performing so you may want to lock that in by getting that ticket.

Personally Tryst Thursday would be my choice.

i saw that avicii was performing and will buy tickets when i get home from work today. i'm not a techno fan at all, but figured i should still check out xs since i'll be in encore. btw, i'm 30 years old and prefer hip hop music since i cant figure out how to dance to techno. this is actually why i am considering going to haze thursday night. i've read that they play more hip hop.

      thanks for the response!

I'll be there the same weekend too. Haze may be better for you if you're more into hip hop. 1oak would be your best bet for the type of music you like.

I went to XS for Avicii 2 weekends ago and never saw it so slammed. Had a blast. The taxi line at the end of the night was so long it went across the whole front of the valet area. I broke down and hired an escalade.

yeah, that's what i figured. i think haze would be a better fit for me. the bottom line however is going to a place where i can meet women. also, i read tryst tends to draw an older crowd. i'll have to look into 1oak. thanks for the reply.

i'm not really into that kind of music. do you think it would be worthwhile for someone like me? would it be to loud/busy to game women?

I had a table at tryst on my last trip. The music didn't matter at all I had a blast. So much fun. I guess it's harder since you're flying solo. There are a few people from the forums there that weekend, groups of guys. Reach out to them and see if they're getting a table and going in on one with them.

I didn't like the music either for a while until it grew on me. Even doing GA in vegas can be expensive at tier 1 clubs so if music is a dealbreaker for u (even if u plan to get crazy faded to the point where u can tolerate the music) then I def suggest going somewhere that plays what you like. No use in dropping that kinda $ if music is a buzzkill. That being said there's lots of potential with the ladies at XS, just stay away from the indoor area. You're not getting tail in there unless you have a table. Way too crowded. Stay outside. I'd recommend an area close to the crowd but not too close so you have room to operate, and not too far away that you look like a loner. I've had women come to me there without me even doing anything, complimenting my cologne, my watch, etc. Had a couple even invite me back to their table. Just gotta have that fun, playful vibe going. Even if you dont feel it, as the old saying goes, fake it till u make it. Acting like a tuff guy or a creeper will get you nowhere at clubs. Goodluck!

                      Avicii isn't techno.

When this happens it can at times be a better move to walk over to Treasure Island and take a taxi from there. There's rarely any real line there.

Or hoof it somewhere close to get some post-club eats and then catch a cab after that!

On my recent trip to Vegas, my flight was cancelled Monday night on my Bday weekend so I YOLO'd it up and decided to do bottle service at Marquee that night. Even without the table, you'll have a blast if you're outgoing and willing to approach a group of people. It's Vegas, you'll most likely never going to see these people again so have fun!
