Vegas Independence Day Weekend 2014

So this years trip has been planned for Independence Day weekend. We arrive on the 3rd and leave on the 7th - plan to visit some different clubs this time like Hyde, Light and maybe even Drais given it will be open.
Is ID usually a busier time of the year? Given it falls on a Friday is it likely this will be classed as a 'holiday weekend'?
It looks like most of the event calendars are set out to the end of June so waiting to see what they're updated with for July before deciding on the final itinerary!

Day:
Fri - Drais - Arty - Cabana/Daybed
Sat - MDC - ? - (Pre-sales probably or hope there is hotel guest entance)
Sun - EBC - Steve Angello - Couch

Night:
Thurs - Drais - DJ Reach (No idea?) - Upper DF
Fri - Light - Bauer - Tier 3
Sat - Marquee - Kaskade - Backwall
Sun - XS Nightswim - Zedd - Right hand side of the main bar

Really want to check out Drais but unsure doing it on a Thurs but we've never bee to Light, Marquee or Nightswim. Mindfuck galore but hoping we've got the right balance. We're passing up Wet on Sat with Clavin Harris as we know we'll be ruined by that point so an afternoon chilling out at MDC without the need to drop $3k will help us power through until Sunday eve. Or so we hope!

I have been during Fourth of July 2 years ago. It will be packed and the lineup should be good and yeah 100% will be considered a holiday weekend so budget wise be prepared to plan accordingly. Also, and I can't say this enough, Vegas is hot as shit in July. Don't know if you have ever been during the month but even though I was warned and thought I was prepared I found myself being uncomfortable anywhere other than the pool during the day time. Still had a great time though.

Nice one our man!

I've been in May twice and mid-June twice. Never quite got into July but yes I'm fully expecting to be battered by heat.

We're meeting the wives in mexico afterwards for 6 days of all inclusive. No idea how that's going to be possible after 4 nights in Vegas! Seems like it's a terrible decision in hindsight. Still...the 7am flight after boozing all night Sunday should be interesting.

yeah best time to do the 4th in vegas is when it lands on the weekend. it will be slammed. enjoy. I'd go myself but I already have mdw and edc weekends on my plate out there. I would be burnt out doing another crazy weekend so soon after edc lol.

IDW DJ's are getting released more and more. How does this look as a plan:

Day
Fri - MDC / Liquid (cabana)
Sat - Wet - Calvin Harris (GA)
Sun - EBC - Angello (Beach couch)

Macklemore is at EBC on Fri and this is the event showing the highest 'sellout risk' of the weekend on want tickets. Can't be serious!?

Nights
Thurs - Tryst (inside) / Hakk - Michael Woods (?) (front row pav) / Haze (dfloor)
Fri - Light (tier 3) /Drais (inside backwall)
Sat - Drais/Light
Sun - XS Nightswim - Zedd (??)



Questions:
1. how does this look? guess it depends on the dj's at light and drais but on the basis we know we want to hit them then we just need to decide on the nights. we've never been to light and drais being new want to check it
2. what's the best spot for XS nightswim? Not in the pool but not far from the action either.

Still so many options we're missing out on:
- marquee, the bank, tao, surrender, xs on a normal night. I hate vegas planning!

Concerning the schedule:
I'm also still waiting for light/daylight/eclipse line up, as well as Drais line up. Definitely think that Drais is worth checking out.

You have to remember Omar, Macklemore is a crossover/pop star. The common I Heart radio listener who may be in Vegas for that weekend will most likely run to his appearance and then go back home to say they experienced the Vegas pool scene and got to see Macklemore....lol

The group thing is something completely new to me!

As much as I don't mind pop music I just can't imagine him at EBC so I'm sticking to Sunday with Zedd. Crossover in his own right I guess

your schedule and mine are similar, tho I'm not missin Wet on Sat...good luck on the comped entry to MDC on a Saturday (I'm tryin the same on a Friday) but overall great choices
