Help me sort this out . . .
So I am planning on joining a Vegas trip May 7-11. It will be a group of all guys ranging in age from 30 to 50. It appears like there will be around 12 this year. It is an annual guys trip that has a core group of 4 or so that have been going for several years and others pile on. All I have gathered at this point is that it is an “alcohol soak” and a sit by the pool (MGM lazy river) and check out the scene.
I know for a fact that nobody in this crew has been to a night club and I am having a hard time gageing their interest in going. That’s cool, I am gonna do my thing at night, invite those that are interested and meet new people as I go.
That said – I am struggling with my “line-up” and how to approach entry. I have been to several night clubs (BS and GL) and have established a few hosts (XS/Tryst, Light, Marquee) that are quick to respond and we have taken care of each other in the past. However, I always roll up in groups of even ratio or more girls. If I ride solo – would it be possible to reach out to the past hosts and get GL entry on a Wed/Thursday night? Is Friday too much of a stretch? How does the calculus change if I go from solo to a group of 2-4 (at 3-4 I might start talking them into BS).
Thoughts on line up?:
Wednesday 5/7 – Arrival chill at MGM pool then Light w/ Otto Knows
Thursday 5/8 – Any solid day clubs? For night club I was thinking Tryst but now seeing EBC at Night with Deorro (know anything about him?). What is a better spot on a Thursday?
Friday 5/9 (my birthday) – How is the Hot 100 at Wet for a pool party? I might be able to swing that for the whole group since it is at MGM. Any chance at a “hotel guest list?” How is Daylight Fridays? I don’t see a headline-DJ listed, is it just their house DJ? MDC hasn’t announced yet so that might be what I hold out for.
For night club – I am torn. I’d love to see Thomas Gold over at Light. Then there is Avicii at XS and Cazzette at Surrender. I am not a super fan of Surrender after seeing Calvin Harris in the winter with the Surrender Dome – it was slammed and the layout didn’t accommodate the people. Is it any better in the summer? I assume for EBC night the DJ faces EBC with back at Surrender and Surrender on Friday night the DJ faces into Surrender with back at EBC?
I know pre-sales is the way to go for hassle free (assuming to arrive on time) but any chance at GL for a solo guy at the above mentioned?
