Just curious if locals get taken care of at most places. Mainly Tier 1 and pool parties. I was wondering outside of the industry and visitors how much the local scene parties it up on the strip.
Do locals get treated differently on the strip?

With the exception of hot chicks, very few locals party on the Strip. Most avoid the Strip like the plague and stick to the 'burbs. It's just too expensive for the average person to do all the touristy stuff here, especially relative to cheaper off-Strip options. When I went to UNLV, I lived way off-campus in the suburbs and I would go to the Strip maybe once or twice a month, and it would be to eat. The only time I would party on the Strip would be to hang out with out-of-town friends who were visiting.
Locals will get better treatment if they know people in the industry, but that's true for anybody. As this forum shows, it's easy to get in to clubs or get good deals if you have an in with the hosts, although it's true that some clubs will give locals discount bottles or B2G1/B1G1 even on busier nights just because they have a Nevada ID.Last edited by avseg; 03-20-2014, 02:18 AM.

Generally, yes. However, I went to Surrender once on a Wednesday, and we were waiting in the table line. This group behind us was locals/industry people, and they had a group of about ten people but only wanted one bottle. They were dressed in basically Ed Hardy tees and various things of that ilk. I know locals can get away with a more lenient dress code, but it was kind of embarrassing. The host (same guy I was using) definitely knew them, and was really irritated. He kind of laid into them, telling them that he shouldn't give them a table. He called them out on their attire, too. The leader of the group kept doing the "c'mon, man, c'mon, man!" The host let them in, but made them buy a second bottle.

That sounds like the people in line any day at Surrender.Originally posted by Chali2Na View PostGenerally, yes.
