Better deal from another host for same club/pool

Hi everyone, supper forum with lots of helpful info.

My question basically is does it hurt to ask another host from the same club/pool to see what they can do for your group if you aren't happy with your first quote??

i was wondering the same thing...
also goes for guest list. I was told from a host that even the girls had to buy presale and there would be no guest list. I get having guys buy presale and girls on the guest list but never heard of an all girls group have to buy presale.

It can backfire on you. Remember, in the end the hosts have to put the reservation in. They WILL see it if you book with someone else. Some hosts won't offer you something they can't deliver especially if it's two-three weeks out from your trip and they don't truly know what demand is that night. Your min isn't really set until you meet your host at the podium and their boss agrees to the min you've negotiated.

If you start shopping business and the hosts find out they WON'T be as inclined to help you out with deals. It makes no sense to bid against each other too much. This is especially true on repeat business and hosts you have developed a relationship with.

It's not really the right way to go but people do it, and it could hurt you. Make sure that you are not just trying to get the lowest number. We quote based on the event/size of the group/location, etc... So yea I can do 1k, but I'm not doing it for 20 dudes, as example, while some other host may quote you 1k. So be sure to clarify. Also, There are people time and time again that get a wrong low ball quote, that show up and don't get sat. And be careful of the dreaded bait n switch..

depends on weekend/event/venue...xs for example during summer you'll have a bunch of people there isnt a guestlist on fridays/saturdays even for all girl groups, but there is, they just have to be hot and you have to be willing to send pictures to prove they are. Then there are some times when they really don't even for all girl groups.

This is the beauty of capitalism and free markets.

There's no reason to give a host your personal details before getting a quote, all they should need is a basic outline. If you don't like that offer then proceed on to the next one.

Your the customer, so if thats the way you want to do business, go for it. Results will always vary. Some will be a success, and some will fail. Same goes for dealing with a Jr. host vs. Sr. host. Having a relationship with the host seems to be the only sure thing. Beyond that, there really isnt a "best" approach IMO.

When i go to a new club I like to hit up a few hosts to see which ones are the most pleasant and most responsive and eager to help. That way I feel confident that night-of there won't be any issues.
