11 guys; 19th March - 26th March questions on best acts / venues

Hey everyone,

There are 11 guys heading to Vegas; for most of the group, it is their first time; so we want to make it a big deal.
We have 7 nights from Wednesday 19th March - Wednesday 26th March when we fly to Miami for Ultra Music Festival.

I'm after a bit of advice on which nightclubs / bottle services you would choose, and which productions you think would be the best! Here is our itinerary so far:

Wednesday 19th - Dyro at Light.
Thursday 20th - Nervo at Hakkasan
Friday 21st - Afrojack at Hakkasan *or* Krewella at Light (maybe even david guetta at XS)?
Saturday 22nd - Avicii at XS *or* Hardwell at Hakkasan *or* Skrillex at light?
Sunday 23rd - R3hab at Hakkasan
Monday 24th - Diplo at XS
Tuesday 25th - Calvin Harris at Hakkasan

For Friday / Saturday / Sunday; which club/artist would you choose? Which will give the best show?
Where would you drop some cash for a big night out (bottle service)? (Probably do it 4-5 nights)

I'm open to everyone's opinions on this as I have not been with a group of this size before, and have not been to a couple of the clubs mentioned.

Saturday Skrillex then Hardwell but you can't lose this night or you could do Claude Von Stroke late night at Marquee

You'll probably get the best mins for Dyro, Nervo, R3hab and Diplo

I was going to post a new thread in the Dayclub section, but could you please give me your opinion on:

Friday: Grandtheft at Encore Beach Club Las Vegas *or* Lema at Marquee Dayclub
Saturday: Chuckie at Marquee Dayclub *vs* Sneak Peak at Daylight *vs* Wet Republic
Sunday: Kennedy Jones at Marquee Dayclub *vs* Sneak Peak at Daylight *vs* Wet Republic

For Dayclubs, we'd probably prefer some deep, deep house, but I know in Vegas it's pretty common to see full on EDM sets?

1st- WOW- a week in vegas THEN the craziest weekend in Miami

2nd budget- you can do vegas cheap or expensive clubs/hotels (presale tickets/ depending on which nights you do bottle service/ what kind of tables) compared with Miami during Ultra which will be really high for tables and hotels.

3rd- lineups- since your going to Ultra I would have a look at the parties going on in miami and see what you think you might go to because you could very easily seem a dj in vegas then at a club in miami and also at ultra- maybe you want to see a dj 2x or 3x or maybe you don't

I think you're worrying too much about the talent!

What you should be worrying about mate is the budget. Im not one to ask personal questions (well I am!), but what is your budget here? Its gonna need to be big.

FYI - I know Miami, and the scene there is scary. Its much much more expensive than vegas. Especially during Ultra week. With 11 guys in MIA you have major problems. You simply wont get in cos the security and way they work the lines there are just ridiculous.

Last year I was there with 2 male friends. We needed a $3k minimum to get in to Liv/Story on weekend nights. We ended up going GA - and were just turned away from the line. We rounded up a group of 11 girls and after a free-for-all when the rope was opened one of my friends was still turned away from Liv.

This year ive spoke to a host about going in May and for 2 guys on a Saturday night at Liv its a $2k minimum. On a normal non-holiday weekend.

With 11 guys it will be absolute hell to organise unless your budget is major and by major im talking $7k to $10k on big nights if you are thinking bottle service. If you arent - then you are gonna need to play some major games to get into the clubs. Its such a pain in Miami unless you're with BIG groups of females.

Its a girls town. For guys its a total bitch. A great time once youre past the velvet rope but never in my life have I had such a pain getting into places.

Look seriously into what youre gonna do and how you'll do Miami, if you though Vegas needed planning Miami is on another scale.

Agree with tomm0 lived in Miami for a year and go back during the summer. During the week your talking about going you are going to find 2 things.

1. Even if your willing to spend (and tomm0 is right on the price range) your going to find that you still might get turned down for even some of the worst tables in the spots you actually want to be at. Unlike Vegas during the week that your going there will be a alot of smaller groups willing to pay even more than that or celebrities getting comped to make an appearance.

2. Also, even more than Vegas even Miami is ALl about the women 11 guys (even if your willing to spend) with no females is going to be a tough push especially on the weekend.

It's doable but start planning and making contacts as best you can like today, you do not want to go half ass heading down there it can really screw up your time down.

Im gonna presume you dont have $50k between you all to spend in MIA, cos thats what youll need for 4 or 5 nights if youre doing bottle service for 11 guys. So ill chuck some advice down on where to go and whats going on in MIA...

Liv: Any night its on. Best club by all accounts. table will be crazy money for 11. GA will be impossible without throwing $300 to the security guy each.
Story: Bit easier to get in, more underground acts and proper house music, not EDM. Tables bucks.
Set: An absolute bitch of a place to get into without insane money. Extremely exclusive
Wall: Equally hellish to get into as Set
Mansion: In my view its crap. Nice looking venue, devoid of atmosphere, youll find it easy to get in
Cameo: Youll get in here no worries
Adore: New venture by Cy Waits (his twin bro runs the show at XS, they used to run it together) - expect it to be a nightmare
Mokai: Great little place, you wont get in without girls. Its small and they run some crazy crazy percentages to keep it 75% girls
Bambu: Nice looking club, I enjoyed it when I went, youll get in but it'll cost you. Was $300 to get in for any guy on a night when Snoop was there

Basically, even pre-sale dont get you anywhere im Miami. If you turn up in a group, its no-go. So you'll have to go in two's or three's max 30 minutes apart to get in. I'd wager it'll be rare that you get all your group in the same club on any one night.

Well he did say he is going to UMF, so he probably won't be clubbing much in Miami.
As far as Vegas goes you should definitely do pool parties.You should also probably get in contact with someone as of now to help you plan your stay & give you prices.

Ultra itself is an ALL AGES event that ends at 12am on Friday and Saturday, 11pm on sunday.

You're looking at the big name dj's performing at the newest/hottest clubs in Vegas which = $$$$ especially for 11 guys.

Budget will be a major issue. With newbies involved you need to know what the boys are willing to contribute to the cause for each night or day.

Have to remember whatever the minimum is add the following...20% auto gratuity, 8% sales tax, 10% LET tax since these are the big name dj's plus tips to the bussers and security.

3k min is $4200 total just as an FYI w/o tipping your host. Now do that 4 nights = $16,800 w/o doing any pools. Per person is $382per night if all 11 went every night.

Definitely get in touch with the hosts now to start the plans.

Thanks for the great response to my questions! I appreciate all of your comments; I have written back to you all below, please excuse the length of the post!

I know; I literally cannot wait for this. Going to be an intense 2 weeks!

We’re going all out for this trip; we’re all hitting that age where work / girlfriends / priorities are piling on top of us; so we’re making this a blowout.
9 of us are staying at the Cosmopolitan and 2 at the MGM (their personal preference).
Our budgets are looking like this; we’ve equated $400-$500 each, per day for food / drink / bottle service, etc. We could drop $300-$350 each on a table each night, and still have enough left over for everything else I think? Of course, if we only need to spend $200-$250each a night, and can throw the rest at something else (roulette) we’d be happy with that!

Wow, that’s a little scary. Especially if 2 guys get rejected… we might need to work Miami out more than Vegas! The guys I’m going in are pretty good at rounding up groups of girls; but like you say, with 11 of us, it could be a major hassle. Thanks for the heads up with this!

Thanks for the club run-down; I’ll keep this in mind! How do security / hosts react to handshakes (without bottle service) to get in to clubs? In Aus, we can throw most of them a few hundred and get pushed straight through – would it be the same there for normal entry; or am I barking up the wrong tree?

We’ll definitely be hitting the pool parties; to be honest, it’s one of the things I’m most looking forward to!
With all our best intensions of hitting Ultra, then heading back to the hotel and resting up for the next day… most likely, that will not happen – The group that I’m going are known for going on a few days worth of benders… wish me luck….
