  • BEST Tier 2 EDM music

Hey all, think my group is going big on saturday night but trying to save a bit of money on friday, so I think we are considering tier 2 / tier 3 clubs, but still looking for a great time. We all like EDM, so no rap, top 40, so just wondering what the best options are for us. I see 1Oak mentioned a lot, but again not looking for rap so I think that's out. Last time I was in vegas a few years back I think Tryst was tier 1, is this considered a tier 2 now? Any other good recommendations for our group that will be a lot of fun and get us a table? (10 of us looking to spend ~$300 per head all in, vs a tier 1 where it looks like from everything I've read on here would be ~$500 per head. Also this is EDC weekend, so prices will be even higher I believe)

    Thank you!

EDC weekend you won't even get "tier 2" places for $300/head really.

      Not true.

You'll be fine at Tryst, Surrender, Tao...

You can also do XS and Marquee but definitely will not have the best table locations...

We did last year for that price...

Price aside I am really just trying to find out the best tier 2 EDC clubs, I'll price them out once I know what they are, so just trying to put a list together now. I will look into Tryst, Surrender, Tao, please let me know any other suggestions as well.

        Thanks

EDC week almost every club will have an EDM DJ. But, you're going to have to wait until late May/early June for the schedule for Tao, Surrender, Tryst, Lavo and possibly Hyde and 1Oak. Those are the clubs you'll be looking at though.

Isn't 1Oak mostly rap? Is Hyde too?

Will definitely look at Tao, Surrender, Tryst and Lavo though. Thanks

Ill boost LAVO. Had BS there last year. Forgive me but I forget the hosts name who helped us out, but all the staff was very helpful and professional. It wasnt a headliner DJ that was there but hey, they play the same tracks and we all eat it up anyway. LAVO is a lot smaller in space but still just as fun. funny story...at the end of the night my friend who is from a smalltown in Indiana refused to let the secruity guard escort him and the 3/4's of goose left to his room...convinced security was trying to take it. The moment he realized what was actually happenening was one i wish i could have captured on camera.

No, 1OAK is not mostly rap. 1OAK is a mix of the mainstream pop (e.g., Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines), mainstream rap (e.g., Jay Z) and mainstream EDM (e.g., Calvin Harris). Basically the mainstream music you would hear on a pop station but of course the songs that have a beat you can dance to. 1OAK is fantastic. I am an EDM fan (pretty much all I listen to is EDM) and I loved 1OAK. My group of 6 guys will hit 1OAK again in June. 1OAK gets top notch reviews all over this forum.

FWIW when people say a club in Vegas plays "hip hop" they don't mean rap. They mean mainstream music. Edit here to say except for Lavo on Old School Hip Hop Wednesdays. That is old school hip hop (i.e., old school rap).

You have to remember that you are going EDC week, so clubs that normally would book and EDM DJ might have one to take advantage of all of the fans in town. It's just smart business.

If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it! That being said, it's Vegas and doesn't hurt to try!
