TAO v HYDE on a Friday night

Advice for a group of 5 guys on a Friday night. Narrowed it down to TAO or HYDE.

We have a budget of a $2K minimum ($3K all –in). We would appreciate any views on peoples’ preference between the two clubs on a Friday and why.

We have had a dance floor table at 1OAK before and are keen on being right in the thick of things.

We obviously want the best table location our minimum/handshake can get us so would a $2K minimum secure a good location at either of these venues on a Friday night? What sort of minimums would secure us the dance floor tables/better spots?

What sort of music is played at the two venues? We are less keen on all hip-hop/R&B.

If you go to Tao you'll want to be in the Moat area at minimum, but that still won't be like your dancefloor experience at 1OAK.
Tao seems to have fallen off a bit but I'd still expect a DF table to be in the $5-6k range on a Friday depending on season.
Tao also looks to be going hip-hop heavy now. They do "Sakebomb" Fridays now...though I'm not sure what that means.

I think you're going to be much happier at Hyde if you liked 1OAK. It's not all chopped up like Tao is, and even if you can't swing a DF table at Hyde you're not stuck off in the middle of nowhere away from the action. You should be able to get a pretty nice table at Hyde for around $2k.

I'm sure Chad will get you a good spot, but I'd personally be happy with 60's or 70's if he can swing that for you.

Yep, Chuck outlined the issue with Tao, different areas, chopped up and if you are not familiar with the layout, it's tough to zero in on a best spot. Every table at Hyde is pretty much in the action, though I like the ones close to the window. DF are great too. there.
