  • Favorite smaller clubs?

This isn't a knock on the bigger clubs like Light, XS, Marquee, etc... but for my next trip the guys have decided that the smaller clubs is the route to go. Our night at Tryst was Epic while our night at Light was just "Great" according to one of my buddies thus leading to this question.

So how would you rank the smaller clubs? What are your top 3? Thanks for the help.

I've found the women at Hyde to be abundantly friendlier than at the tier 1's for some reason. Always have a great time and great conversations with new people. dj and dance floor are good as well. I usually use Hyde as my pregame spot but you could easily use it as your all night club if you choose.

I've been to Tryst and had a great time, is this considered a smaller club?

What is considered tier 1 these days? XS, Hakkasan and Light?

XS, Marquee, Light and Hakkasan is on that border. The rest are varying degrees under that.

But I think he more means size as in actual space/layout of the club.
If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it! That being said, it's Vegas and doesn't hurt to try!

        Planning
        2014 - March 13-16 - Bachelor Party
        2014 - June 5th - 9th (maybe) - Big 30.

Does Bank count as a smaller club? That would be my #1

I too am looking for a non-tier one for my next trip in March. Tryst and 1Oak are on the top of that list. Sold on B.S. at tryst for Thursday and looking into repeating Tryst or hitting 1oak or another club for Friday or Saturday. My group also slightly prefers Top 40/Hip hop over EDM, but I am not a DJ-ophile. I almost couldn't careless whose spinning unless it drastically effects the ratio/crowd.

1OAK. Great on Friday nights. Open format music which means lots of top 40/hip hop and also some of the popular EDM. Best part is that compared to tier 1 clubs the tables are affordable. My group hit 1OAK for the first time last October and we had a great experience. We will go back in June.

Been wanting to go to 1Oak. Can I ask what pricing was like when you went?

                        - 1OAK (hands down favorite club overall, actually)
                        - Bank
                        - Hyde
I'm not bitchy, I'm just drawn that way.

We had a dance floor table. Table 37. See map at link at the bottom of this post (you will need to zoom in the view). I would highly recommend a dance floor table. 1OAK is small and a dance floor table is right in the middle of all the action. Lots and lots of foot traffic. The service for the tables is spectacular. If I recall our cost was buy 3 get 1 free (i.e., we paid for 3 bottles and got a 4th bottle for free). I did give the host a $500 handshake but we never discussed handshake in advance (which is atypical for me, I like to lock down everu detail in advance). But October is a slow time of year. I asked the same host about the cost of a dance floor table in April of last year and he said the cost would be buy 4, get 1 free or buy 5 get 1 free depending on demand (I asked for the quote way in advance). So you are probably looking at 4 bottles for a dance floor table.

                          4 Bottles at $550/bottle - $2200
bottles waters, Red Bulls, etc. - assume $500 (just a guess but you will be buying bottled waters for the ladies and it is not cheap)
                          8.1% sales tax - $219
                          20.0% server tip - $540
                          host tip - $300-$500
security tip - $100 (worth every penny, trust me, security at 1OAK treats you like a rock star)
                          runner tip - $40
                          Total - $3,900-$4,100

If anyone sees any issues with my numbers or math, chime in.

I don't have numbers for other tables, such as second row (i.e., the row behind my dance floor table). I do know there is no foot traffic at those tables).

Contact Joey Orr with any questions even months in advance. He is fantastic and will respond to your questions. My overall experience with Joey and 1OAK was better than any other club. It is not my favorite club (Hakkasan is) but it is fantastic.

We ended up at table 64 for a B1G1 on a non-event Friday night....I don't remember what the cost was. It was two bottles of Skyy (we went for a third bottle in the end, but weren't expected to). But that was 9 girls plus a solid handshake (after years of waitressing, I tip well as a rule). I loved our location, but for guys trying to fish for girls- go for dance floor. There wasn't really foot traffic where we were, which was ideal for us (only one girl was single and looking) but a bunch of dudes might not love it- in spite of the easy stripper pole access. The club isn't a big cavernous space, though, so meeting girls on the floor or wherever then reeling them back in is possible. Here is the view from our table. The pole we're on is right behind the dance floor tables. So we got a great view, had room to dance, and space to ourselves. Lol again, probably more of a perk for girls.

And definitely DEFINITELY go through Joey Orr. He is the best, and very graciously handled my neurotic overplanning like a pro.
