  • Disabilities & night clubs

I need some advice. I have very mild cerebral palsy which slightly effects my walking and speech. However, I live a completely normal life. I am from the UK and sometimes when I go out to clubs and bars I get rejected entry by doorman because they think I am too drunk/on drugs. It is only after I explain to them that I am disabled that they let me in. I was wondering whether this could be a problem whilst going out at night in Vegas and whether there are certain things I could do to prevent it from being a problem. Would it help if I obtained a doctors note explaining my disability?

Wouldn't hurt, but you could also contact one of the hosts here to ease any entry issues as well.

+1 I'm sure any of the hosts on here would help you out at the door.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

Yes, it could be and I've ran into it. Bring documentation if possible, but the clubs legally can't deny people for disabilities and we actually had a training to errr on the side of caution and let the guest in vs denying them. We can get sued for discrimination, definitely contact host and come to the club or pool at opening. We will let security know before you arrive.

Hey JS, just to echo what the others have said... decide which clubs you want to visit and then search for the recommended JC host for the venue and get in touch with them. Let them know what you need and explain your situation.

I can't comment on your exact situation but I do know that every host I have worked with has gone out of thier way to make sure entry was smooth and that we had a great night... you can count on having the same experience if you use the right host.

If you get stuck looking for contacts I am sure anyone on the forum will be happy to help.

          Have a good one!

Thanks very much for all your comments. Very helpful indeed. Looking forward to it now and not as worried as I was. Have got certification from a doctor just to be on the safe side too.
