Doormen frisk?

So my buddy is an extreme budget guy. He has purchased these disposable flasks that he plans to fill with alcohol and bring in to a club. He buys one drink and then refills it all night from his pocket. He claims to do this at clubs in other cities successfully. I'm not on that small of a budget and just don't want to hassle with nonsense to save $40. Will he get frisked goes in. I don't recall ever being frisked in the past but then again I've never snuck stuff in. My worry is they will catch him, won't let him in and then I'm on my own which means I'm not going in either.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I've heard of people doing this. I myself never have, I just pre-game harder and let it ride. IMO worst case he gets asked to throw it away/dump it out, unless he causes a scene about it.

Honestly tell your buddy to not be such a cheap ass and pay the $ or get a job where he doesn't have to worry about that.

Pre-game hard. Should be able to get sloshed and get walked in without losing your buzz.

None of the clubs I went to actually searched me. Only tried it once in Vegas though. The rest of the nights I was getting a table so smuggling a flask in wasn't necessary. Honestly though, the savings can be fairly substantial, and a lot more than $40, depending on the size of the flask. I do it here at home all the time and save a pretty penny. If you're worried about getting caught just start the night early and if they catch him at the door, just head to another club. No club in Vegas has a monopoly on the action and you can always make a night at another club.

honestly though, the risk reward factor isn't in your favor to risk it. You came to vegas to party and spend money. Best thing to do is just head to a poker table an hour or two before you plan on heading out. Just keep ordering drinks from the waitress, tip her well, play tight, and win a couple of hands. With the money you win, you'll likely cover your drink expense for that night.

If all works out well you'll be buzzed, have won a little money or lost little, and enjoyed the action at the table. Hell if your up big, have one of the hot massage girls to come over and get you loosened up for the evening. Poker players in vegas on the $1/$2 tables are fish and will never know when to fold their hands, give easy tells, and bluff in obvious situations. It's easy pickings if you have a clue.

After that's said and done, just head out to the clubs with your buzz and order a few more drinks at the bar. Maybe even have the poker room waitress bring you some shots prior to leaving. Don't risk the flask, it's not worth it.

Good points. I do play a lot of poker and employ your strategy often. My buddy on the other hand, even if he would win would treat that money differently and still want to be cheap at the club. If I can't talk him out of it, we will go early like you suggested and if they catch us on the way in we can just go somewhere else.

I don't think your risk is getting caught at the door. You won't get frisked. Your risk is getting caught once inside. There are so many employees in the club - waitresses, busboys, security, hosts, managers, etc. - that might see you. It would suck to pay the cover, go inside, start chatting up ladies and then get kicked out. You would have to catch a cab to another club, wait in line, pay another cover and start the night over.

Yes although I have personally seen a bathroom attendant grab security when he thought something amiss was going on in a stall. But the odds of your buddy getting busted in that circumstance is VERY low. That being said I agree with others than when in Vegas plan to spend $$$ otherwise you won't have a good time. If you worry about spending on drinks in the club in Vegas then the entire trip won't be fun because everything is expensive.

I actually love playing craps there. Most of the people there are just having a good time which is the only reason I play craps.
