Las Vegas in July, can't decide on anything.

Hi all, I know these questions have probably been answered multiple times but I have done so much searching over the past few days my head is starting to hurt so I just thought I'd get some straight up answers.

In summer me and my friend are venturing across California and will be hitting Las Vegas for 3 fun filled (and no doubt expensive) days. The specific dates are sunday 6th (Will be arriving late at night) till Wednesday 9th.

Firstly I am having trouble selecting a hotel. We are both 21 so we are looking for a young vibe (basically girls our age ) I have heard great things about the Cosmo but as we want a suite its a little out of price range, next we looked at Planet Hollywood but their suites seem to be reserved and finally Hard Rock but its off stripe (We will have a car though) Are there any other hotels I am missing (probably a stupid question) just a good pool scene during the day and nice pre-out scene at night, don't mind going elsewhere for clubs etc

Secondly, we will be there Sunday night- Monday day/night- Tuesday day/night and Wednesday day. Would like a pool party, and two decent nights out and one night for a illusion show. I am going to be missing anything by coming on weekdays ?

Lastly (Thanks for coming this far) I have heard bottle service is pretty much expected for a decent night out. If there are only two of us will say $600 be enough ? or I am looking at more ?

Hotel- Honestly would go low end to save money for parties/clubs/drinks/entertainment

On Sunday there will be a pool party probably starting around 1 going till 5pm
On Sunday night you could do nightswim at xs or indoor club Hakkasan
On Monday Night you could go xs or marquee
On Tuesday night either lavo, 1oak
On Wenesday Night you could hit up Daylight- night time pool party called eclipse.

Ifs its just two would probably do presale tickets. As one bottle might be $600+ tax/tip which could run 28%-42% on top.

Thanks for the advice! Will probably forgo bottle service then unless I win big, or maybe one of the nights depending on our financial situation by then. Is MGM a good hotel for us younguns ? There room prices seem reasonable.

MGM's room seem awfully good value at $95 a night for the executive queen suite ? Is there something I am not aware of ? This cheaper then some shit hotels in LA.

MGM will be a decent spot, I have stayed there previously and its good. Only thing I would say you may end up in an old ish room, some have been refurbed but a lot still haven't. However, its in an ideal spot and will have plenty going on.

Dude forget the suites, why do you want a suite? All that means is you basically get a sofa. Real suites with seperate bedrooms are thousands of dollars, way out of your range. Just keep it easy and get a room with twin beds.

On the whole, Vegas hotels are cheap. Much much cheaper tahn LA for example. Its simply supply and demand. They dont make their money from hotels its made through gambling and increasingly now; nightlife.

What you need to do is work out where you think youll go. Personally I think XS Nightswim is the best party in Vegas, so its a must. EBC is also the best pool party so that where you should go Sunday. Then Monday either XS or Marquee. Tuesday Hyde or 1Oak.

MGM is good and cheap, and a good young vibe, but also - youre gonna pay for that in cab fares in and out of there. Planet Hollywood is also a good young vibe too as is Palms - but thats off strip.

Id go MGM if I were you. Youll probably end up at Wet Republic which to my mind is a bit lame, but it serves a purpose

Hotel, I agree with Tommo, why a suite? I would get in the COSMO in a standard room, will still be really good.

Sunday day check out marquee day club if they have someone good playing...
xs nightswim is a must. And just get a regular room...depending how much you want to spend stay at the wynn since youre doing so much xs/ebc, saves te taxi and let me tell you something...just needing to take an elevator after a hungover its great.

On the subject of July, what is vegas like over 4 July weekend? Assume it isn't as big as LDW or MDW but with it being a thurs this year I'm sure people will use it as an excuse for an extended weekend.

do i expect higher minimums in line with LDW and MDW or more likely to be in the normal range?

FYI: Vegas biggest days are Friday and Saturday Night
Hotels are most expensive on Friday and Saturday Night.
Sunday- Wednesday hotels are super cheap.

Your MGM price probably does not included $28 per day resort fee!

When I say go cheap I'm talking about getting a $25 a night room with no resort fees!- Because you just need a place to rest in vegas- you will be at nightclubs all night. Because there are so many hotels- rooms can be super cheap. check kayak.com

Might try to change your schedule around to at least hit one pool party on Sunday Afternoon.

Dude - everything they said - ditto...your schedule means your biggest day is your 1st day, it all goes downhill from there and gets quiet from Monday on. But you'll do fine with MGM (I'm crossing my fingers for Cosmo so my head can xplode). Based on when you check in, hurry to EBC and you can figure out the rest from there by reading the forum posts.

I only hit Vegas for the 4th of July holiday - doing it again this year...I'll be there same window but winding down when you arrive. Prepare for the 100 degree weather and you're good...be a little patient as they won't publish performers and special events until middle June.

I went for 4th of july this year...Is not as big as MDW or LDW but its a good wekkend..there will be some good djs. Expect higher mins but not even close to MDW i think.
And what kman90 said...its VERY hot! my eyes were burning just standing outside at surrender for will i am.
Wouldnt agree on the hotel, you can get cheap deals and a good place to sleep. There are alot of nice hotels in vegas and im sure for $100 you can get something good...
A good option is venetian / palazzo also, close to the wynn (will save on cabs)

You have the monorail the entire side where MGM is and you can tram from Monte Carlo to Bellagio on that side.

Taking age into account MGM (cabana July 2013 reg pool) or Aria (personal favorite from MDW 2011 trip) with PH (Oct 2011) as my 3rd choice. MC (MDW 2012) then Harrahs (Oct 2012 and July 2013 for Bach party) after that if you want to save some more money.

Really appreciate all the help guys! The reason i'm going for a suite is because budgeted for Las Vegas to be expensive. We are staying in hostels in San Francisco and New York (Though a $220 a night condo in LA). I think $300 for 3 nights in the MGM seems reasonable, its $400 more for the Cosmo. Also I would like a decent room to bring a girl back to if I was so lucky. Will look into that Mlife card.

I am still looking at Planet Hollywood due to location but I heard the pool is shitty ? Then again I'll be at XS nightparty sunday night, Wet republic the next day and will be going to the grand cannon etc so won't really have much pool time. Is Planey Hollywood a better option the MGM then ?

I can't really adjust the holiday timings but is it really going to be dying out mon/tues (Wednesday I'll be heading to Denver so it doesn't matter)

I do plan on coming back to Vegas next year when I am (hopefully) a little richer, this was just meant to be a quick taster as im in the area.
