  • Halloween in Vegas: Pros and cons please?

    Hello people of JC,
I'm part of a group of eight guys coming to the US on a boys trip later this year from New Zealand, most of us last did Vegas in 2011 but there will be a couple of newbies.
We'll be coming to the US on the 31st of October, doing a week long trip taking in New Orleans and Vegas as a group, following which myself and some others will be sticking around for a bit of travel around the US.

Reason I've started this thread is we haven't decided on if we'll do Vegas first, then New Orleans, or the other way around and I thought I'd get your thoughts.
I know weekends in Vegas are more expensive than doing an Monday-Thursday visit, both hotel and table minimum wise (we will be looking to go to a couple of clubs, we are aware this means paying for tables as a group of guys), but is Halloween weekend more expensive than a normal weekend?
On the other side of the coin, is Halloween weekend a must do weekend?
Is Vegas quiet after Halloween, or is it just like any other midweek in Vegas? (this feels like a stupid question, I'm sure Vegas is never what I'd call quiet)

    Basically, what would Batman do?
Previous trip: June 30 - July 7, 2011. Stayed at the Palazzo & PH Towers.
    Returning: Oct 31 - Nov 2, 2014.

Pros-Women dressed in the most obscenely revealing costumes they can find
If you're in good shape, you can wear something incredibly stupid and show off your hard work without seeming like a super douche
There are usually big headliners at many of the clubs and while the mins are slightly elevated, they are nothing compared to a normal holiday weekend, as in reality it is just a normal weekend and nobody has the Friday or Monday off like a federal holiday

I can't really think of any cons. I go to Vegas for Halloween almost every year and have a great time, without destroying my bank account.

Cheers, the women in not much is the first pro I thought of. It's the upside to Halloween anywhere, but I still remember the elevated standard of girls in Vegas
Will be adding a few Spy on Vegas photo galleries to our Facebook event

The con is that the pool parties aren't as crazy as the weather turns to shit, and some of the bigger ones will actually be closed. This past year the only pool party still open was Tao Beach I think and it was pretty dead. If possible come before October. Halloween is ok here, there some cool parties, but not better than a regular summer weekend May-Sept in my opinion when you add in the Dayclubs.

Cheers man, we did EBC when we were last in town and I agree, it was amazing and I really want to do more Vegas pool parties, but it's not an option due to other things the lads have going on this year.
That, and we've already booked our tickets to the US, maybe I'll see some of you at the pools in 2015.

Also, visiting the US during the off season is going to be great for me in other ways, mainly I'm obsessed with Hockey #LetsGoPens and like Basketball #KnicksTape
