  • March Madness (Mar10-15th) Questions

Just had an amazing 31st-4th with some of my closest buddies in Vegas. Got to show them a strip club, party bus and bottle service and a club (XS) for the first time. They came away feeling like gods...and they wan't more.

Two of the 6 are still in school and coincidentally have their spring breaks during the same time! (woop)

Unfortunately it seems this time is in the epicenter of the gambling man storm that is march madness.

It was hard last time to get them to cough up the $ but once they did they knew it was well worth it. SOOO they all know to start saving/planning right away for 2 months from now. I am not in to basketball and neither are my friends. We like to party and listen to EDM. I have checked some hotel rates and they are not toooo crazy. My itinerary is hopefully including the following:

    Requirements
2 Night normal room (march 12th and 13th)
1-2 Nights in an awesome suite for a hotel party (March 14th and possibly 15th) and GA to a club.
1 Night in an awesome suite (see above ^ ) -> Party bus for 2 hours and then Table at LIGHT or XS

    Stats
    4-6 guys
6-10 girls (hopefully lol, but the guys are a for sure)
Budget of possibly 4-600 per guy, possibly more
    21-26 years old
    All big into EDM

Just a few questions as I am an information heavy type of person and love to plan/organize so my fun is maximized.

    1. What am i looking at difficulty wise when it comes to booking? (Tables, room rates, strip clubs, dining etc)

    2. What kind of price spike am I going to see? (same as above)

    3. Any tips/advice from previous madness goers?

I think the cost will be pretty similar.

If you can find cheap flights / hotels that are refundable- that can be canceled- you should book.

I live in Cali and it is a 3 hour drive to get there. Super easy for us.

Are clubs packed or more intense because of march madness? I see hotels are more expensive (basic rooms) but big rooms seem relatively the same.

The real march madness doesn't start til the following weekend. That wrekend in march is best hotel pricing weekemd of the monthly. Ill be there 13th-16th (or 17th if I fly as I'm also in cali - 39 buck flight from vegas to long beach Monday am)

        Is budget inclusive of hotel?
If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it! That being said, it's Vegas and doesn't hurt to try!

        Planning
        2014 - March 13-16 - Bachelor Party
        2014 - June 5th - 9th (maybe) - Big 30.

Options I was looking at were some of the suites that are 900-2k sq ft in size for $400-600 a night split by 4-6 guys.

Through MLife i just browse easily to see base prices. 2 nights in a shit room to visit friends from town (4 of the 6 of us grew up in Vegas) and then 2 nights of as epic partying as I can make it.

I don't calculate driving or drinks/food in to the price. I bring cliff bars, protein shakes and gluten free bread to eat lol.

Total weekend price would be the club + hotel + party bus.

For 2 bottle minimum at XS for 9 guys each guy paid $200 and for party bus an additional $25, throw in another $25 for alcohol (at a bottle a piece for bus/hotel) and it was around $250 for everything we needed.

What were you thinking? I am up for anything and I think i saw in your other thread that you are a mad numbers man.

Honestly, I'd skip the party bus. You have a suite just pre-party there.

Well first, March will be more expensive than early January as far as rooms and club minimums. So it will be more challenging.

I think the low end of your budget of $400/each will be tough for as many nights as you are staying and the fact that you want suites for a couple of the nights, unless you have comps/players card, even more-so if this includes bottle service one night. The best budget suites are going to be at the MGM Signature, Hilton Elara, Polo Towers, and Jockey Club.

What do you mean by regular hotel? Howard Johnson or like hotel or a low end casino hotel room? How many rooms will you need (or just 1 and pack em in?)

For my group, going that same weekend (Thurs-Sun), I got 3 rooms at ballys for $950.00 incl. resort fees for 8/9 guys. That was the cheapest I could find outside of the Quad, Riveria, Circus Circus types. You may also want to consider a private house rental. There are some nice ones available if your group stays around 6.

But even with the cheapish hotel price, my budget is looking around $600/per guy just for low end bally's bottle service Thursday and one weekend night as well as one club entry cover and 1 buffet before we head back home (I'm not big on nice fancy dinners as I'd rather save the money to pump into partying) something like:

              Rooms: $130/pp
Supplies (alcohol and in room snacks): $30/pp
              Buffet: $35/pp
B.S. Thurs: $180/pp (Planning on Tryst or other industry night club)
Club GA Fri or Sat: $50/pp
              Bar hop/cab from S.C: $30/pp
B.S. Fri or Sat: $200/pp (mid-tier club, don’t think $200 will cut it at the top ones like XS, Light, Hakk, Marquee)

              Total: $630/pp

I'm thinking of cutting the buffet, bar hop and club GA to make it look cheaper to my buddies so they don't freak.
If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it! That being said, it's Vegas and doesn't hurt to try!

Headstrong if you're looking at buffets and since you are staying at Bally's you may want to look at the 24 hour buffet of buffets pass. 24 hours from the time you buy access to all of the CET buffets.

Weekend prices are $64.99 for Total Rewards members and $69.99 for non-members. It applies starting at 11am on Fridays until 11am on Sundays. Also "You can upgrade your pass to include the new Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace for as low as $15 per visit or the Village Seafood Buffet at the Rio for $10 per visit."

3 meals all you can eat for $65 plus tax isn't that bad with no upgrade.

March is always expensive, no way around it really. NASCAR is always the first weekend and then March Madness, not to mention Spring Break is starting. But if you really want to come in March, I'd recommend something off the strip.

yes, it's the first weekend of the NCAA tournament that is a little busier, plus some schools have spring break. Shouldn't be too crazy. I think for Light on a Fri or Sat, you prob need to do atleast $1500 and that will be a table upstairs. But again, you can't really tell what the mins will be until you see who the performer is at each club. That may or may not drive up the pricing. Party bus? not sure I'd do that, especially if a pool is open and weather is good. I'd pool, chill from the drunkness, eat, then club.
